per TV channel 7 here in Omaha; Sept. 2, 2000 vs. San Jose St. Actually game time air temp was 106 degrees. 'Feel-Like' temp close to 115 to 120 degrees. Today will be a full ten degrees cooler. Still hot.

I have never understood why we use the east sideline for our home sideline. The sun is always in our sideline's face and late in the game the visitors side is usually cooler. I suspect it has to do with the stupid press boxes.

Been to some hot ones, but I remember going to UAB in 1998 and a UAB player pulling his helmet off and puking all over the field. Lotta stretchers in the stands that game.

Yeah, but then the flip-side of this is on those cold fall days that sun light can have a nice warming affect for the players and fans on the east side of the stadium.

You ever play? Alot easier to stay warm on a sideline than cool. The bench heaters and everything they have take care of that. The guys coming off the field are the ones we need to worry about. IF some of our key guys like TA, Bando, Maliek etc start cramping we're in trouble.

Yes I have played. A little bit in High School. When that wind blows on those cold days it can be real bear on that sideline. We didn't have heaters though.

The benches are very protected at Memorial Stadium. That's good when its cold and terrible when its hot. That turf gets unbearably hot and with all those bodies on the sideline there is no way you can cool that area adequately. Lets hope it isn't a factor today. ONE guy cramping up could be a really bad deal for us and cost us a game.

I remember that game. Saw many drunk people getting carried out of the stadium. Extreme heat and booze dont mix.

We played Baylor back in the Early 90's that was brutal , face melting humid.
