Given the once in a generation nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, we felt we should make an exception to our previous no-politics policy on HOL. We then extended it for George Floyd's senseless death, but we feel as a staff that it is time to revert to the no-politics rules on our boards.

Our rationale is the same as it was before: the country is so divided over so many issues that we want our site to be a refuge and haven from all of the acrimony.

The only exceptions to this policy would be news stories that concerned Nebraska sports or the sports world in general. For instance, what Sean just posted about the proposed college football practice structure for the rest of the summer and into the fall.

There are so many other web sites and avenues for everyone to discuss politics to their heart's content. But HOL will not be one of them going forward.

This change back to our politics-free zone will begin Tuesday afternoon. So you have 24 hours to get it out of your system.

[Note: we still plan to have our November free-for-all election day thread.]
