Hoiskers Going Hard After 7'2" 4 Star Center

…seriously. He’s got a kid that plays for the Magic, was in school within the last few years.

He is not related to Manute or Bol Bol. He is from South Sudan, where that’s just a common name. My younger brother in-law actually showed me highlights of himself playing against Bol Bol in high school and completely shut Bol down by getting really physical with him despite giving up about 6 inches. You generally want these dudes on your team though, hope Fred can land him!

He's in KU's backyard, I doubt they will let him leave the state.
Not true. These kids come from all over who play for Sunrise Academy. If you drove by and seen the facility you would laugh.
Pretty much nothing. Noone can really figure out how they get top talent to go there. I do know most are troubled kids but not all.
Grady Dick went there for his senior year but again, they get kids from all over.
And no, Kansas does not get anyone they want just because its in Wichita, Kansas

Sunrise has a bit of a reputation as a placement school. Not just for KU but probably a a good 15-20 big programs, assuming you are "connected" with them.

Let's get connected then. If we were to get caught cheating (is there such a thing anymore?), I'd be happy.

No, there is not, not anymore.

It looks like, if he is visiting here, that someone on the NU staff is connected.

I don't know if NU has ever placed a guy at Sunrise though...maybe that is what creates that "true" connection, I have no idea. There seems to be an understanding that if you place a guy at Sunrise, that guy will stay with out and other coaches are not "allowed" to recruit him.

We'll sure they do and Nebraska has gotten a player or two out of sunrise.

For sure, not every kid is placed there with a specific plan. NU will get some too and it appears that this center is in play as well.

Several things:
*I used to live about four blocks from Sunrise...it IS a forgettable campus...including its' gym...DOES have a live Bison on it's grounds
*It actually is NOT really for troubled players, by and large....they have positioned themselves as a non KSHSAA school that is not limited by Kansas rules, so they travel everywhere....one thing I like about them is they seem to be transparent as a basketball school...I'm sure players get financial aid, but the play against similar schools
*While not the Harvard of the Midwest, they DO stress Christian education, so they appeal to a niche
*Gradey Dick played there TWO years...junior and senior. I know because he came from our school, where he had already been offered by every big time coach, INCLUDING Fred. Mike Mitchell starts for Duke this year. Buddy Hield played there. They do have two lower track teams that play against Kansas schools.

I DO think Fred has visited a lot. It's an interesting sight to see big time coaches shoulder to shoulder in a small time gym.

Hope this helps.
