We (Tennessee) are really looking forward to our game with you in the Music City Bowl. We had held high hopes for a great season this year (bygones). However, the one bright spot is getting to play a storied program that is unparalleled like Nebraska.

IMO, you have one of the best fan bases in the game (if not the best). I'm going to the game and am looking forward to interacting with such great fans. Cheers to you.

PS. Bug eater was a pretty cool name, I'd bring it back.

You'll have to excuse some of our fans. They're more interested in having a pity party about a 9-3 season that apparently didn't meet their expectations after we went 6-7 last year. Yes, most of us are looking forward to the matchup against Tennessee in the bowl game. Should be a good game-would be even better if we didn't have some of our best players missing for various reasons.

I loved tailgating with the fans at the Fiesta bowl in 2000. Wish I could be there. Hope you lose your next game and come back strong next season. Merry Christmas.

9-3 is better than 8-4. We too have been decimated by injuries. It is the Cripple Bowl.:p

I see we are starting with the injury and other excuses preemptively. You overlooked the fact we are playing in Tennesee and our punter is a true freshman.

Good call. I agree that since our starting QB has a torn hammy, our backup QB has asurgically repaired wrist that still doesn't allow him to take snaps under center, and our 3rd string QB is a WR is a common problem for every team.

Now, Della, welcome to the board! Looking forward to the game!

Excuses? Who's making excuses? Injuries are a factor in a game whether you like it or not. I said I expected a good game anyway. But I guess I forgot. Every other team is legitimately hurt by injuries except us. If we ever win a game where the other team had a key injury-the win was empty, meaningless or essentially didn't count. But if we ever lose a game where a key injury was a factor? Unacceptable-we're supposed to rise above it. It's poor coaching or whatever else you can blame.

Went to a Tennessee game once with a friend. You guys were playing some no name team in the non conference schedule. Can't remember the team. It was 2005. Anyway... the fans were awesome! Reminded me a lot of Husker fans and Lincoln on gameday. I had a blast. I have great respect for your program. Glad we are playing such a class program

Hi jeans.

I was beginning to think y'all were kinda shy. I held off from using "y'all" in my OP, but now that the ice has been broken, I'll be myself.:)

I think the board will appreciate having one of the Ladies of Rivals to talk some football.

What's the mood of your team right now? We have a lot of players potentially not playing this game.

Not that that's an excuse... don't want to give that impression at all.

Thanks!!! Let's hope for great weather, great food, cold drinks and a Husker win :)

I would argue that we have suffered more injuries than y'all. I don't really know the mood of the team, but the mood of me is sky high.

I spent two weeks in Nashville back in '98. I have never laid eyes on so many beautiful women in one place since. If I wasn't married I never would have left..... even though I'm no country music fan, except for maybe Johnny Cash after a couple Jack & Cokes.

I'm just ready to watch us play. This match-up was suppose to be played in a home and home series.

Kind of disappointed that we didn't get a chance to play in Kneland stadium.

Home and home would have been terrific. However, I just thankful to be playing a name brand team like Nebraska in our bowl.

I will be there also. Not liking my Huskers chances, but its all good. Hoping for a good game with friendly folks. Not holding out hope for the friendlyness, just due to my knowledge of SEC football fans, but I am hoping.

Della, shouldn't you be moderating somewhere instead of gloating about your bowl victory? Winking

Sometimes, it is just nice to lay that burden down. As far as the "bowl victory", from you lips to the football god's ears. I have made no boast of a victory. We are just glad to be playing such a great program like Nebraska.

Did Tennessee scrap that to play in the Battle at Bristol?

I believe that's the case, and hard to blame Tennessee... Even though a home and home with Nebraska would be great, playing in the most attended college football game ever, was better.

You're not playing alabama. If y'all win, you don't have to worry for the safety of your trees or lives. We take our football serious, but after the game, it is time to move on.:)

I'be always had a blast with SEC fans and southern teams like VT and Clemson. It's the Colorado, Penn St and Wisconsin's of the world that can be pretty unpleasant.

I kinda like the cordial way both our MODS discuss the game and the history in the joint piece on the front page. Nebraska fans/MODS just seem like great football people.

We ARE great football people. And so is Tennessee fan. They are like Nebraska fan, except they like the color orange.

We are without our top three players plus various other injuries, etc. And our D doesn't match up well with your offense. It should be an easy win for Tennessee..
