Hey Coach Satt, Can We Use the Fullback a Little More Than Only 2 Carries Out of 244 Rushing Attempts?

nice compilation of service academies and P5 teams from nearly a decade ago

let's rejoin the present now

It was not about the video, dude. It was about using the FULLBACK to max potential. We have 5 on the roster, 2 of which ran the ball very well in high school. The also probably didn't fumble a lot.

But for all the pre-season BS about using the fullback, and only 2 carries? Just saying.

We’re using them a lot to help prop up our crap OL

It’s been reasonably effective

They’ve used the full back quite a bit, just not for rushing the ball. Lots of blocking for the running back or the quarterback. I know it’s not what you want, but they have use the full back a fair amount.

OK, but only 2 carries out of 244 rushing attempts? I'm a Badger Grad and a Husker Dad X 2. Nebraska in the day, and Wisconsin up until last year, used the fullback effectively.

3 to 5 yards a pop on a run. And then a inside FB trap and you bust them for 15 yards when they break through. And no FB fumbles!!!!

And then a fullback pass screen. Man, those plays were things of beauty.

Ok. Against Northwestern's speedy lineman or their All-American linebackers?

No Fullback play will work?

Just want to go to a bowl game this year, man. See you there if we use the Fullback.

I Just Love the idea of a Hard Hitting Fullback and what it could bring to this offense! An offense that is struggling and is attempting to get good at Option Football again, why not make this position a feature and blast some dudes...

I truly do think that what's old can be new again when combined with some new techniques and watching old highlights from Cory & Joel make me want this even more...

Please please 🙏. If we got the ball 1st and goal from 3 yards or less we at least attempt a FB run. If we punch that in the stadium would explode. I believe we have had a couple chances this season.
