Certainly possible - jailhouse justice tends not to be investigated too closely so unless the alleged perps are stupid.......nothing more to see here.

Extremely doubtful. He was in a single cell. I don't know the specific policies at that facility, but most housing units are going to go into lock down for the night around midnight, maybe earlier. That would be followed by a count and hourly rounds. They would have had to miss a dead guy in his cell for several hours. And there would be cameras running in the unit at all times so it would be on film if someone went into his cell. His family and those who care about him may not be able to accept that he would off himself but going from being a rich NFL star to facing a life in prison would be very difficult.

In reality, dudes dying in custody is a nightmare for those guards/law enforcement. They can expect a red hot poker up the kiester style investigation to prove they didn't kill this guy. In this state, it involves grand jury hearings where you have to prove you aren't a murderer or at the least responsible for letting the guy kill himself. Diabetics and suicidal people are given extra attention for this exact reason.

As far as somebody being able to somehow overpower guys like Hernandez or LP and make it look like a suicide is something that happens in movies and not in the really real world. It is actually extremely difficult to control even a normal person, let alone a dude that has spent a lifetime making their body strong and durable enough to play professional sports. Dude killed himself. End of story.

That was my thought. You wanna tell me that Aaron Hernandez with nothing but time to lift weights for years was overpowered by anything less than a small army and then they staged it to look like a suicide? Sure thing...

Even the article I read about the double murder trial I read on ESPN said that Hernandez looked much larger than his listed 6'1 245. He was also rumored to be quicker and faster than both Edelman and Welker while with the Pats. Either way if the reports are true how the F would some murder someone then wedge items up against the inside of the door?

But it happened to LP!!!

I had a guy try and hang himself with me. He calls me to the cell. Then he says I'll see you in hell. Yells Geronimo and jumps off the toilet. He's swinging and I tell Him I'll be right back. The guy 4 cells is hanging also and he has dibs on you. I step aside. Count to 4 then open the door and save him. From then on he told everyone I saved his life. Just another day in a maximum security prison.

Our policy is to pepper spray them if they are in the process of attempting it. Most of the time it's attention seeking. They will wait till an officer is completing a round and know someone will stop them.

Between his size and the fact that things were piled against the door from the inside to slow entry, there's no way he was murdered.

I read that he had stuff piled up against the side of his locked cell to try to buy extra time in case someone did try to save him. There's really no way it could have been anyone else. The article also detailed how depressed he seem to become during his latest murder trial. He had made conversation with others while out of prison and attending the trial. He commented to anyone near him on everyday things he saw like traffic and the weather. Hernandez often times had no one there supporting him at trial and joked about how no one cared. The defense tried to call Bill Belechek as a character witness and the old coach found a way to avoid testifying. He also seemed to come under the realization that going to that trial would be the final time that he would ever be out of prison. At 27, he had a lot of years ahead of him in prison.

He probably should have not killed people if he wanted people to support and care about him.

Boo mf'n Hoo.

No sympathy from me.

Exactly. The realization that he had finally alienated himself from anyone that used to care about him was the stark reality he was now facing. Murderin' folks tends to leave an impression on those that don't subscribe to murderin' folks.

This article explains a lot. I have not really followed this mess going back to the murder that landed him in prison, just bits and pieces. There was so much going on in this guy's life. The "murder in prison" story was a typical smoke screen as you would expect from the attorney.

He put cardboard behind the sliding door so it wouldn't work and make the floor slippery with shampoo and soap so he couldn't easily chicken out. I hope he found peace with his maker before he left this world. He wasn't having any luck in finding it within himself.

Me neither. I was just commenting to debunk anyone who wants to believe the murder if prison story.
