IF he actually ends up there that would be a tremendous hire for them. Lots of D1 assistant jobs are going to open up and get filled over the next month.Good for him. Hope he does well
Not much of our previous staff has been hired anywhere else. Certainly not at the D1 level or power 5.Who cares? Guy sucked out loud here along with the rest of that imposter staff
AD needs his (her?) head examined
Rightfully so. That’s what happens to losers in a competitive businessNot much of our previous staff has been hired anywhere else. Certainly not at the D1 level or power 5.
Most of the guys just released will likely get good jobs in January. Beckton, Fisher and Dawson will get hired. Ruud I’m not sure what he does. IMO the biggest problem for our assistants was the dysfunction of the guy running the program. Not much of our previous staff has been hired anywhere else. Certainly not at the D1 level or power 5.
UNK competed well with the Dakota schools back in the day. Expanding our walk on program hasn’t helped them.Has anyone ever actually been to a UNK game?
I don’t think Held was ever a serious candidate for KU’s job. At that time the guy they should have hired was Beck. With his relationships in Texas he would have recruited well there.Anyone else remember when Held's name was briefly mentioned for the Kansas HC job, and a couple of posters here said he should turn it down because KU was a dumpster fire?
Oh how quickly one's star can fall, when it's attached to a boat anchor like Scott Frost. Anyway, hope he does well at UNK. Still wish the Lopers should have stayed in the RMAC - seemed like a better fit for them.
You're right - he wasn't. But the notion that he should turn down a Power 5 HC job made me laugh out loud.I don’t think Held was ever a serious candidate for KU’s job. At that time the guy they should have hired was Beck. With his relationships in Texas he would have recruited well there.

UNK had a long history of athletics. IMO our regents have kind of screwed them over and I don’t have a dog in the fight. I hope Held can revive them.Didnt UNK have their first winning record in like 20 years last year? I understand that small schools need to offer athletics to keep their enrollment numbers up but I have always found small time college sports so cringry.
UNK is not NAIA.Rightfully so. That’s what happens to losers in a competitive business
Again I ask - who cares about this stiff going to coach an naia team?
UNK is not NAIA. Its Div. II
UNK hasn't been NAIA for many years! Don't post crap you don't know anything about.Rightfully so. That’s what happens to losers in a competitive business

That was just a sarcastic slap at UNK and their recent struggles. He knows that.UNK is not NAIA. Its Div. II
Revived from what?UNK had a long history of athletics. IMO our regents have kind of screwed them over and I don’t have a dog in the fight. I hope Held can revive them.
Yes. They are awesomeHas anyone ever actually been to a UNK game?
Thanks for enlightening me. I really haven’t paid any attention to them since I gave up all my newspaper subscriptions years ago.Revived from what?

the title would be holding instead of held. But you have a good ideaI read the thread title and expected to read a treatise about Wisconsin's offensive line over the years against Nebraska.
I keep seeing Lincoln listed. Do they play Lincoln High?Revived from what?

No, they’ve had winning record 13 of the last 20 years. Including 4 playoff appearances. Where did you get 1 winning record in last 20 years??Didnt UNK have their first winning record in like 20 years last year? Lincoln University, a HBCU school from Jefferson City Missouri. They also in the MIAAI keep seeing Lincoln listed. Do they play Lincoln High?
Could see them doing that to draw fans from a bigger fan base.
Josh Lynn did an excellent job of turning this team around after the Darrell Morris regime wound down. I'm not sure how Ryan is going to do in Kearney. I helped him quite a bit when he first arrived in Florence becoming familiar with the high schools in the Huntsville and Birmingham area as that's an area I used to cover. No, they’ve had winning record 13 of the last 20 years. Don’t blame Morris, you’re forgetting about Josh Lambert spent 2 years after Morris and won 1 game in 2 seasons. Morris was operating on RMAC budget when they moved to MIAA. There was never any “beating the crap out of them”. Matt Strand was a great QB. It was fun going to those games both teams would have 60ish pass attempts! Those 2 teams were on the cutting edge of what was the air raid offense 25 years ago.used to love chadron beating the crap out of them. of course chadron had a pretty good rb at the time.
