Hunter is actually a good dude . Smart. And sounds like he Plays FB goes to school and fishes . He was very complimentary of Nebraska and the fans after the game. He doesn’t buy into all the garbage and antics of Deion and his punk kids : he will be a great representative of the Trophy.

He is the most deserving. Allegedly, it is an award for the best player in college football. Dimwit voters constantly think it’s the best quarterback award however

I don't think McCord was "fired" by OSU. I mean he could have stayed at OSU and won the starting job if he was better, and then be playing in the playoffs. But I think it illuminates the reality that kids aren't going to care about winning, process, memories, or shared experiences with teammates. They care about playing time and money...which is fine. The old way left guys beaten up and scarred, often nothing to show for it but life long friends and mostly likely disappointment at not winning a championship. Maybe they could be a local realtor or start a business and use their name but got little else.

McCord won at Syracuse. And got paid. Sounds like he made a good decision.

That is my point he certainly could have won a national title at OSU, this year...bet on himself, showed that he is a competitor and been drafted higher, and made that money back. Or taken the sure money, won enough at Syracuse, but now looks like a guy who doesn't want to face competition going into an NFL locker room. GMs are pretty dumb in the NFL, and he might not be a high pick but they have to start taking into account when guys leave championship quality programs because they aren't assured the starting position. Why are we even watching the sport anymore if the ONLY point of is it is business? Makes me think of the guy from 49ers who walked off the field, I bet that was a business decision.

You are creating your own narrative. GMs are going to evaluate everything and competing for a National Title isn’t an important metric.

If it weren’t for Jeanty it wouldn’t even be a competition for Hunter. But Hunter may be the best DB and WR in the country. And had the stats to back that up. That’s generational type talent
