Heinrich fûcking Haarberg

Needs to cut down on the sacks, and throw the ball away when he's getting chased by two guys 10 yards behind the LOS, but he's doing a lot of things right.

Definitely needs some help from the receivers. I can't believe we have so many on scholarship who can't catch a ball.

Haarburg's been a nice surprise with his wheels. We may get a few more wins this season if he just hangs onto the ball.

Hopefully with playing time he will up his accuracy. If not, the fear will be that truly decent receivers won't want to come here. Guys in the portal especially are looking for a QB who can deliver the ball accurately and on time. A QB who can run for 100 yards against middling competition while spraying the ball outside a receivers catch radius may not be a long term help to the program.

I said he's faster than Sims a few weeks back and everybody shot me down. I'll say again, he's faster. Prove me wrong.
you're 100% right

anyone who shot you down did so because they have an agenda, not proof

No size or explosiveness at all. We can’t box out and/or take balls away from defenders and we can’t separate down field. Kemp is a good slot WR, but if he’s your #1 guy that’s a problem. Currently, we have an inexperienced QB with questionable throwing mechanics and a G5 WR room. I know that’s harsh, but it is what it is. We can win some games playing defense, grinding out drives on the ground and protecting the ball, but we probably won’t have a dynamic passing game at any point this season. We can hopefully get better, and be serviceable in the passing game, but we just don’t have the personnel (IMO) to be a good passing team.

I’m hopeful with some of the young WRs, but until we see them play that’s all it is… hope.

Jesus...Learn the hard way. Now he is a world beater. Watch the first 3 quarters of the game? Not horrible, but not good. Glad there is a lot of educated football pros on this board. Give him the Heisman now. LOL..

what a brainlet take

it's such a Nebraska exclusive behavior to be negative after wins, pretending we haven't been completely starved of them the past 6 years.

we have a QB that embodies the 90s Nebraska spirit for the first time in forever. dude plays hard and it's clearly infectious.

when you're done yelling at the Denny's waitress for the grits being too spicy, try to lighten up a little

HH happens to be the QB on the roster that gives us the best chance to win a football game.

That's an indictment of the coaching staff. We brought in Sims as the lone challenger for QB 1 and it was a huge whiff.

We have no chance to win any games with Sims under center (Sims put up 7 points against freaking Colorado -- who is close to -- or might have -- probably the dead last defense in the nation).

No. HH is not going to transform our offense from what it is to something dynamic. He doesn't fix the left side of the OL. He's not a receiver that can stretch the opposing defense.

But he will at least give this defense a chance to win us a few games down the stretch. That's something Sims does not bring to the table (see: the Minnesota game. See: the Colorado game. )

He reminds me of Taylor Martinez when he would break a run.. He doesn't turn the ball over and he's a fairly accurate passer considering the shitty protection he's been getting... I'd take him all day long over Sims without a doubt. Its only his second start and he will only improve. GBR!!!

Wish he had Taylor’s eye-popping acceleration. Dude would go from zero to full speed in like 1.5 seconds. That K-State game was ridiculous

He was dreadful today but considering the alternative are Sims and Purdy, we have no choice but to continue with Haarberg.

My fear is that it's not just a bad game, but teams finally have enough tape on him and he's a little banged up.

Hope I'm wrong on both accounts
With a decent defense you put 6 in the box and force him to throw. He'll give it right to the defense.

Obviously can't let him run. But a 50% completion percentage isn't going to win much. We're lucky we played terrible teams. Hope we can win one more and get bowl eligible.

Be very interesting to see if and how they decide to address the problem in the offseason.
