Their high school stadium. One would think that they are adding seats but thats not true. They were actually smart and took seats out as they cant sell out anyways very often. It does look like it will be prettt nice though. Congrats to them for finally stepping up with the big boys.

It looks like NU will be getting about 43 million from the conference when we be one full members, which I believe is next year? Am I correct? I'm not sure what we get now, but it will be a hell of a raise.

So funny reading this thread. Go to the Iowa board and see Husker posts go on for pages, we make one here and it dies after 3 posts. I don't know the term for reverse penis envy, but it applies here. Maye I'm over thinking it, maybe it's "whatevs"?

Does anyone know what our current revenue is? I keep thinking it's somewhere in the $25M range? A bump to $43M is going to be HUGE. And maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I read that the new BIG TV contract was going to put all of the BIG schools in the $48M - $50M range. That number must have been negotiated down by the networks.

Also, I get goose bumps thinking what Nebraska could become once we start receiving full BIG money. We're pretty salty right now with a significantly lower amount. We could see some serious upgrades throughout the athletic department that could help propel all sports to the next level.

I thought I read somewhere that NU got $17M or $18M last year and are expected to get $22M this year. A $20M raise isn't bad.

That end zone hasn't been updated for a lot of years. Glad they didn't screw it up because it looks pretty awesome. Drops capacity but just under 1,000 I believe.

If only ISU and UNI didn't exist. Then Iowa could play with the big boys. Maybe once ISU goes to the MAC, we can steal some of their fans.

That looks nice and reducing stadium capacity was a smart move. I wouldn't be shocked to see alot of schools, including NU, us do something similar to enhance the experience in the future.

This

The trend is going to go to smaller capacities and more amenities. As an Iowa fan I love what they are going to do with the North EZ, just wish they would have done a similar design on the south side.

All Big 10 schools should be in pretty good shape financially for the immediate future.

Yeah, I have always wondered how big of a stadium we could have minus ISU. Would love to see the Big 12 get swallowed up and ISU have to drop down some.

I wish NU would eliminate some seating capacity in order to enhance access to concessions and bathrooms in the north and south end zone seats.

I am getting to an age where access to bathrooms is important. Lol

You know we don't have much to fight about these days when we get an Iowa stadium thread a couple days before the next game. Hopefully Wisky will run wild in that unrenovated stadium tomorrow.

The state?? That starts with burning down Des Moines and starting over..

Historic Nile Kinnick stadium 1936 wil still be above 70,000 and you sit right on top of the field . The Vikings with their new all world digs only hold 60,000 something. How is your view at the Horseshoe or the Big house bring your binoculars.

Would be a big fan of reducing Memorial Stadium's capacity by putting in actual seats everywhere except the student section.

It's going to be a nice addition to the north endzone that is long overdue. Plus having huge video boards on each end of the stadium will be nice for the fans.

That looks nice. I wish NU would install a second big screen too
I am guessing with the B1G money rolling in a new south endzone at Nebraska isn't too far off. Nebraska's only problem is every time they build on to the stadium they get the fans higher and further away from the field.

I doubt it would be a new south end zone. More likely is the reduction of seats in order to build more exits higher up leading to a refurbished concourse with more bathrooms and concessions. They could also then add another jumbo screen on top.

That looks great. Would gladly take that over our current south stadium. Having sat in row 93 several times over the years, it is SOOOOO far away and I find myself watching half the game on the big screen. Might as well stay home.

Now last spring, I sat in the new east stadium seats. Way up there, but an absolutely fantastic view.
