is fireing a head coach a couple games into the season unprecidented?
USC fired Helton early in season and then landed Lincoln Riley the day after OU’s regular season ended on Nov. 27. On Nov. 28 he boarded a plane to LA.No it happened with USC last year and Arizona state this year. USC made a home run hire and turned it around immediately. Will we?
Helton was fired after the second game. So even earlier than Frost.USC fired Helton early in season and then landed Lincoln Riley the day after OU’s regular season ended on Nov. 27. On Nov. 28 he boarded a plane to LA.
Fingers crossed next Saturday for us!
If we want to see a look-alike for what pain and suffering looks like being a college football fan, look no further than Arkansas football.Arkansas fired Jack Crowe after the first game of his third season in 1992.
Doubt it. Nebraska doesn’t seem to be in the “excellent decision” business lately. No it happened with USC last year and Arizona state this year. USC made a home run hire and turned it around immediately. Will we?
6 years in fact..We haven’t had a head coach for 5 years
No. USC has WAY more talent than we do top to bottom. We are going to have to be patient for at least 2-3 years for the lines to be rebuilt (especially the O-line). I think the D-line will improve quicker but the O-line talent here is non-existent and is in complete shambles! No it happened with USC last year and Arizona state this year. USC made a home run hire and turned it around immediately. Will we?
To quote Meatloaf, "You took the words right out of my mouth."We haven’t had a head coach for 5 years

Longer than that.We haven’t had a head coach for 5 years
USC, LSU and Tennessee all had very talented rosters. They just needed the right coach, and the turn around was very fast. Or in SC's case, immediate.LSU also. Tennessee was horrible a couple years ago so they have made a nice turnaround also.
