Just heard Cowherd talking about how Harbaugh took a 50% pay cut from $8M to $4M after he went 2-4 during the pandemic season. Then, after they beat OSU last year they "restored" his original salary but didn't give him a raise. Cowherd says it pissed him off and he thinks he's gone.
Plus, I think he wants to win a Super Bowl to match his brother.Well that explains a lot. Wow.
With the way he was treated by Michigan fans, I don't blame him.He seems to have had one foot out the door for the last couple seasons..not sure I understand why.
this was heavily reported & many said it laid the foundation for us keeping our former head coach on a reduced salary.Just heard Cowherd talking about how Harbaugh took a 50% pay cut from $8M to $4M after he went 2-4 during the pandemic season. this is very, very old news. here are a few quotes only Harbaugh could produce when asked about the restructured contract:Michigan brass are effin morons if that really happened...good luck doing better than Jim...because quirks and all, I seriously doubt you're going to get better if he leaves. So short sighted and will Michigan even notice the extra 4mil they saved? They have to have more cash than 90% of other programs around the country...idiots.
this is very, very old news. here are a few quotes only Harbaugh could produce when asked about the restructured contract:
"I reacted, 'No big deal,'" Harbaugh said on Thursday's Zoom call ahead of the CFP Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on Friday. "Attacking each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind, as always. It didn't really mean anything to me. It's just money."
"I would do this job for free," Harbaugh said. "I just love it. Whether it's the first day, first game or position we're in now, which we feel really happy about, I guess I've just enjoyed the ride the whole time."
"People have been very appreciative," Harbaugh said. "I was really happy to be blessed to be in a position to be able to do that. Bo Schembechler has a saying here at Michigan. It says, 'Those who stay will be champions,' and it's always resonated with me. Those that stayed through the pandemic when there was voluntary pay cuts, mandatory pay cuts, that kind of thing. ... Just to be able to reward those that stayed in that way was something that Sarah, my wife, and I wanted to do."
he had his base salary cut in half (from $8M to $4M), and added tons of incentives to make up the differenceI just did not remember this but after I read what you posted it did come to me that he did something with one of his bonuses I think? Gave it to the people who worked in the athletic department who were let go or had their pay suspended?? Seems lime a pretty generous guy to me.
Panthers should stick with the guy they have. Team really seems to respond to him.
Harbaugh is playing games. Believe me, we are better off if Harbaugh stays at MichiganHe seems to have had one foot out the door for the last couple seasons..not sure I understand why.
Yeah, a guy who has coached in college for 12 years and has won 69% of his games (75% at Michigan). What a loser. Please explain why we're better off with him at Michigan. I'm not a fan of the strategy of hoping opponents lose good coaches so Nebraska might be able to beat them, but if you're saying that Jim Harbaugh isn't a good coach that's just stupid.Harbaugh is playing games. Believe me, we are better off if Harbaugh stays at Michigan

Cowherd also said the Broncos are offering him $20 mil. If that's per season (it can't be, can it?) then that is stupid money that'd be nuts to turn down.IMO Harbaugh is nuts if he leaves Michigan but I understand it's not a financial motivation, it's an ambition thing to achieve a personal goal. But he could also continue to pursue a goal to win a national championship at Michigan.

Last week one of Cowherd's guests named Harbaugh as a good coach to put Wilson in his place. He listed a couple others but didn't think Jim would have any issue standing up to him. I sound like the biggest Cowherd fanboy ever but I'm really not, he's just on when I'm driving around over my lunch break! 65% of the time he pisses me off LOL!I had him on in the background and I think that figure is what Collin and his co host were suggesting that family could afford....not what they were actually offering, but I caught the tail end and wasn't listening tbat close....but if I have to have Wilson as my QB that figure seems low to me.

I loved Rome but from what I have heard he has sort of really toned it down because, well, probably because he knows some people will freak out on him.I think he's awesome. Do I agree with him all the time? No....but he's pretty sharp and very entertaining and easily the best sports talk personality goin at the moment...read somewhere he makes a cool 5mil a year..Nice work if you can get it!!

Cowherd bugs me at times because you can tell he's taking a contrary position to stoke reaction. But, then I realize that's the gig. He also love to be the "I told you so guy" but then again he's right a lot!I think he's awesome. Do I agree with him all the time? Last time I heard him he had the same callers calling in from like 15 years earlier.Never got into him. Tried. Thought it was the same show every day, but I know he's super popular and I'm sure he has a 100mil in the bank by now.
I listened to him daily 10-12 years ago but then I just reached a point where I got wore out on his schtick. My first XM radio was bought for the sole purpose of listening to him!I loved Rome but from what I have heard he has sort of really toned it down because, well, probably because he knows some people will freak out on him.

I gave him 5 years when he first started at Michigan with this being a primary reason. I think he is an extreme competitor and his brother's SB win over him has to be eating at him. Obviously, I was wrong on the 5 years, but maybe not on the other part.Plus, I think he wants to win a Super Bowl to match his brother.
live look at michigan fan seconds after posting that:From a Michigan fan.
I don't know how much he might be offered but obviously it would be big bucks. But in Harbaugh's case he's being paid so much already and so rich, the question is when does he have enough money already so that it ceases to be the determining factor.Cowherd also said the Broncos are offering him $20 mil.
