We’ve left a LOT of offense and points on the field with our mistakes. Every week it seems we don’t see wide open receivers. Every week we turn the ball over multiple times. That isn’t a physical talent shortcoming and iMO it’s not coaching. It’s mental errors and inexperienced QB play. So yeah we should be winning some of these games by 3 TDs and we really should have beat CU and MN.
I disagree. Sure we should have beaten Minnesota, but saying that we "should" have beaten CU is assuming that a lot. CU beat us by 22 and out yarded us by over 100. Nothing about that says fluke loss to me.

Every fan base can say that their team should be playing better and winning by more points. I'm sure we've benefited from the mental mistakes from our opponents just as they have benefited from our bone headed blunders. If I recall correctly, this team hasn't had a winning season since Obama was President. Any win is a great one at this point.

Side note: Any team with major pass protection issues is going to have missed receivers down field. HH at times seems to go through progressions. He'll show improvement as he gets more experience and the game slows down for him.

That long pass was perfectly thrown. Heinrich is not great at running option unless he keeps. He’s not great at 10 yard passes in to tight windows. I prefer to see him throw deep balls so that at least if it’s picked it’s not much different than a punt. At this point I really think Satterfield is calling the plays that he sees him execute the best in practice. Those multiple misses to Fidone over the middle should have been easy pitch and catches for first downs.
Good post. QB's with accuracy issues always seem to have passes they are better with kinda like average jump shooters who shoot well after doing one specific thing-- like shooting off the dribble going to their right-- and are terrible doing everything else. So they only shoot mostly the shots that they usually make and overall their percentages are average. I think that's what they are trying to do with HH. I could be wrong on this, but I think with medium/shorter throws, HH throws better to the sideline than across the middle.

Agreed completely. Otherwise I'm not sure what is going on. I cringe every time he throws a pass in the middle of the field. It's like they are pre snap stuff. No reading whatsoever. He knows where he's going before the snap regardless.

Like you said although he's not very accurate either way at least the deep ball results are high risk vs reward.

I see why people like him so much. I love his heart and competitive nature. It's just the skill set that doesn't do it for me. Is he the best we have

I don't cringe when he goes back to pass I just scream ' dear God, no'.
The guy throws into triple coverage because he's predetermined who he's throwing it to.
And it certainly doesn't help when our recievers betray him by not securing the pass and it bounces off their hands. I thought our 5 star tight end was emerging as a star but these last few games his role as a reciever has been just awful.
I say we stick to bombs and sideline patterns.

I get your point. I am a 'you are what your record says you are' guy. But, there were some points of absolute awfulness that Colorado's strengths or weaknesses had no effect on. We certainly didn't deserve to win it but it's within the realm of possibility we could have had we played it clean, which we don't do.

Bottom line, we won. Won ugly but we won. Let’s keep getting better. Both coaches and players. It’s a learning process. Sometimes not easy to watch. But damn it, we are playing the easiest Fckn schedule we will ever have. Might as well win while they are learning. GBR!

Now THAT is an attitude I can get behind.

We ain't pretty. Won't be the rest of this year. But dammit, we winning and the team plays their asses off with what we have.

West is a disaster, and we are as good as anybody left on our schedule.

4-1 the rest of the way may well land us in the B10 Championship Game.

Absolutely I agree. He has to be doing it at practice. Otherwise it truly makes no sense whatsoever.

Being honest on the very first play they ran that ball was soooo far behind the WR I just cringed. Like seriously how much do we have to see to understand what we have. Granted I haven't seen one practice but I've seen EVERY game and I can tell you what HH is and what he's not. If we are being honest we know more about HH than we do about Sims right now.

It's crazy how it seems the play calling goes against his strengths.

Early on I disagreed with the play calling for HH. Where were the running plays/zone reads?? But beyond that HH is just too limited passing the ball. It’s pretty clear whoever is coaching him kind of views him as a lost cause who sadly, may still be our best chance to win this season. Otherwise that ridiculous side arm would be gone. The very first play I would run the ball every game just to get a play out of the way where he can’t f*^%# it up like that. He had Fidone open and he had Boerkircher open for a walk in TD and he threw to the defender. Just maddening.

He’s not really getting much better at this point. It’s becoming clear we’ll be going to the portal this off-season. We have the other dudes on this team to beat the purge maskers by 20. They are downright horrible

My only question though is was it really a QB draw? I didn’t see the play so I can’t judge but if there were receivers in routes isn’t it in effect an RPO for your leading rusher?

Can't wait for the time when HH starts to see his open receivers. He is missing several. Maybe he is jumpy because the protection isn't always great.

He knows where he's going to throw pre snap more time than not. He's just super raw right now and isn't a good "QB". That said he isn't a bad "football player". I know that sounds crazy but I believe it to be true. If he's the best we got nothing we can do about it but hope he improves. It's just sooo hard to watch and easy to get frustrated watching. Saving grace WE ARE WINNING and that's all you can ask for.

Exactly. Very raw.
