Haarberg

We keep finding a way to win close games.

Just the opposite of previous regime. HH was about what he's been. He still isn't a very good QB. He misses a ton of throws. But he's tough and he has a hell of a defense to hold him down. Like I said those mistakes and sloppy play eventually catch up to you. Luckily we have a defense and northwestern offense sucks maybe worse than ours does.

Satterfield again with some head scratchers. It's like he calls offense for what he WANTS HH to be and not for what he is. Anyways I'm done complaining about winning. Keep em coming.

Lots of throws were there today. HH had a tough game. If we have a game where we're down 2 scores HH will need to step up his game. First throw he had guys open but totally missed it. Next pick he didn't have a good throw but should have been caught.

Hey young man we're behind you . Don't listen to the monkey chatter , you had a rough game but gutted out a win. Get better this week and take it out on the Boilers. GBR !!!!
I support HH as the starting QB, but he had a lackluster game, today. I don't think the OC does him any favors either. For an example. After the failed FG by Northwestern in the 3rd quarter he calls three straight pass plays. I question that decision. On the first play that was an interception if HH would have hit his target it would have been a big gainer. Maybe ease into the game. Let HH hand off the ball a couple of times or run it. Have him hit the TE or rb for a 5-yard gain to test the wind.

I forgot to add, THE Huskers won the game!!!!

Tommy Armstrong isn’t cutting HH any slack on the radio show on some of his reads and throws. Lots of missed opportunities in the passing game

IF HH makes the right read it was an easy 6 points on one of those calls.

Can't wait for the time when HH starts to see his open receivers. He is missing several. Maybe he is jumpy because the protection isn't always great.

Problem is as a coach u have to know your personel. It was there but why would you trust what you have seen from your QB to get it there. Tough situation to be in for an OC for sure. But he can do everything but make the throw for the QB.

They all see this.

I'm appreciative of any and all that play for my beloved Huskers.

I wasn't good enough way back in the day.
I would have given my right testicle to run down on kickoff coverage just once. I had a college friend who played on the o line and a couple of friends were walk ons. The walk ons never played and they were stud athletes. The chicks wouldn’t leave them alone.

Obviously he executes it in practice or they wouldn’t call it in a game. Teams are crashing the gaps to stop our run game. We have to complete some deep balls to keep safeties honest. The play action on that TD pass was just enough to prevent the safety from getting deep enough. Gotta take it when it’s there.

Absolutely I agree. He has to be doing it at practice. Otherwise it truly makes no sense whatsoever.

Being honest on the very first play they ran that ball was soooo far behind the WR I just cringed. Like seriously how much do we have to see to understand what we have. Granted I haven't seen one practice but I've seen EVERY game and I can tell you what HH is and what he's not. If we are being honest we know more about HH than we do about Sims right now.

It's crazy how it seems the play calling goes against his strengths.

Bottom line, we won. Won ugly but we won. Let’s keep getting better. Both coaches and players. It’s a learning process. Sometimes not easy to watch. But damn it, we are playing the easiest Fckn schedule we will ever have. Might as well win while they are learning. GBR!

Couldn’t watch the entire game. Do we have a bootleg RPO in the playbook? Seems like getting HH or a receiver in 1 on 1 situations — or both — make sense. Also would slow down the defense a bit, wouldn’t it?

getting tired of spreading the D out and then hoping HH can make something happen up the middle.

That final drive on 3rd and 4 we should have rolled the kid out instead of getting stuffed up the middle.

just a young QB. You see that all over college football if you watch teams other than the top teams
Maybe it is youth. Maybe not. AMart never learned to read defenses or spot open receivers. Haarberg had an awful game yesterday and damn near handed NW the game early on. I am not sold on his having much of an upside. Good thing we have a great defense. Otherwise he would be 2-3 as a starter instead of 4-1.

We need a solid transfer portal QB for next year. Going to be hard to recruit receivers if we don’t.

You don’t think that NU should be blowing everyone out, do you?
We’ve left a LOT of offense and points on the field with our mistakes. Every week it seems we don’t see wide open receivers. Every week we turn the ball over multiple times. That isn’t a physical talent shortcoming and iMO it’s not coaching. It’s mental errors and inexperienced QB play. So yeah we should be winning some of these games by 3 TDs and we really should have beat CU and MN.

That long pass was perfectly thrown. Heinrich is not great at running option unless he keeps. He’s not great at 10 yard passes in to tight windows. I prefer to see him throw deep balls so that at least if it’s picked it’s not much different than a punt. At this point I really think Satterfield is calling the plays that he sees him execute the best in practice. Those multiple misses to Fidone over the middle should have been easy pitch and catches for first downs.

I don’t disagree much but I think the odds of landing a better QB in the portal aren’t great. Then you have the whole learning curve for a new QB and the potential locker room issues. I want to see us develop QBs. We need to land kids like Easton Stick and Flores and then develop them.

just happy that he didn't get pulled for Sims, that shows the coaches trust him.
Rhule has to hav an ulcer from watching the QB position. I would like to see Sims play again but preferably not because Heinrich is struggling. I’m not sure how they could do it but it would be nice to get him some game reps.

Agreed completely. Otherwise I'm not sure what is going on. I cringe every time he throws a pass in the middle of the field. It's like they are pre snap stuff. No reading whatsoever. He knows where he's going before the snap regardless.

Like you said although he's not very accurate either way at least the deep ball results are high risk vs reward.

I see why people like him so much. I love his heart and competitive nature. It's just the skill set that doesn't do it for me. Is he the best we have

Everyone in the world knew QB draw was coming.
