Been there 12 years. One nonwinning season - his first. We are working on 2 in a 3 year time span
why would you not want him here? So you would rather have a .500 coach here instead of a guy who takes mediocre players and competes for conference championships? Only had one losing season and that was his first season. Please!!

Oh, he would be a huge upgrade over what we have now to say the very least.
Is that the standard? Winning seasons? I'd take gundy over Riley but he isn't the answer.
look none of us are going to be making any decisions on who is the next AD, to keep Riley or who the next HC will be. I am just stating my thoughts.
My thoughts are Gundy is my top choice when Saban, Sweeney, & Meyer say no. (always start at the top and work your way down) Now I am not saying Gundy is the 4th best coach in college football. I am saying there is a top 3 and then everyone else. I like Gundy because he is a proven winner, understands Nebraska football, is a no nonsense kind of coach and takes average players and makes them better and they play team ball. I like him and I think he would be a HUGE upgrade to what we have now. Crap I can name 10 Nebraska high school football coaches that would be better than what we have now. I honestly believe that. Riley is a .500 coach and should never have been hired here and should be fired right now. dude is a crap stain on the underwear of husker football.
I think this thread just shows some people will never be happy. Gundy would be a homerun hire and would win big in Lincoln.
Excellent post. Getting sick of all the "We'll never get Coach X / Coach X will never come here" refrains. The money is there. The commitment is there. You swing for the fences, offer the elite guys and make them say no, and work your way down if necessary. If you don't ask the answer is always no. And I'd also be fine with Frost BTW.
He would be an upgrade over Riley for sure, but I don’t think he’s going to compete for any championships. He doesn’t seem to place enough emphasis on defense.

sorry but i believe he would leave for the right job. I know osu is his college but he is tired of playing second fiddle to oklahoma.
