Gretna's Patrick Arnold Commits to Wyoming

Congrats to PA. Wyoming got a good one I think and PA fits the Wyoming program well with Bohl.

Best of luck!

Patrick Arnold is a tremendous young man. A very hard worker with a attitude second to none. I had the pleasure of meeting him at football camps in Omaha the last few years. Congratulations young man! I along with many will watch you dominate at Wyoming.

Unfortunately for the huskers he's too good to walk on but not quite what they want for a scholarship
I get it, but I also don't get it. He's everything a coach could ask for and more. Attitude/ work ethic second to none. Smart enough to get Ivy League interest, etc etc etc. We are starting 2 walk ons right now. I'm sorry, just partial to our corn fed road grator PA.

I am glad to see he gets the D1 offer to go to a good school and program. While we on this board get upset when a players decommits from Nebraska, I do hope the staff gives him another look and maybe still offers him. If Nebraska is a dream school when he has full options, if not then he sticks with a good program and gets a good education.

If he were 1" taller, he would have a scholarship. I understand why metrics are important to coaches. But sometimes coaches need to look past that. Everything about Danny Woodhead said take a chance on me. I feel the same about Pat. He would have been a leader on the field, off the field, in the weight room and on campus. He will be at Wyoming. I have known him since he was in kindergarten. Kids naturally follow him. Few kids equal his work ethic and competitive drive. I am disappointed he didn't get the offer, but glad he didn't go walk on route. Laramie is a great town, and Bohl is a great coach to play for. Congratulations to Pat.

Depending on how the numbers in this class shakes out with possible extra scholarships opening up with transfers/medical hardships etc...maybe he could still get a late offer just before signing day. Maybe Wyoming becomes a placeholder for him. Winking

I agree with every bit of this.

His dad told me that Coach Cav sat down with him and explained that the remaining OL scholarships this year would go to Tackles and they knew that wasn't his position. Patrick and his family have nothing but the best to say about NU and the coaching staff and now have a second team to root for.

That is great to hear about how the staff handled the situation...

However, in the world of recruiting things can change quickly. Just ask the tight end from Nebraska that was offered just a couple of days before signing day. Winking
