I believe Dave Feit wrote a series of articles detailing the best Huskers to wear each number. If anyone has that list, please send along a link, because the link I had isn’t working anymore and he hasn’t immediately responded for comment on Twitter.

Right now, I’m particularly interested in No. 12 bc I just bought a #12 jersey. Is Turner Gill the greatest to wear it?

Also, please reply with the greatest/your favorite to wear numbers 1-15.

My favorite Husker to wear 1-15 is probably Lavonte David (4) and Helu (10). However, I’m not sure either are the GREATEST Huskers to wear their respective number.

Let’s go with one number for each player. the number they finished their husker career with, IE #5 for Marlon Lucky and #93 for Suh.

Hmm...I am going to go out on a limb and suggest Tommie Frazier for #15. Winking

Jamal Turner at #10.

Actually Jammal Lord vs Roy Helu would be an interesting conversation...

Really tough but here is what I’ve got while at airport:

1. LP
3. Eric Warfield
4. Lavonte David
5.Groce or Booker
6. Restart
7. Crouch
8. Tyrone Williams
9 Steven Taylor
10.Bret Clark
12.Gill
13. Carlos Polk
14. Jerry Tagge
15. Frazier

Drawing a blank at 2 and 11. Maybe Von Sheppard at #2

Von Sheppard was a really nice guy who would have had a fantastic career at NU if not for all those knee injuries. Because of that, I would probably go with Corey Dixon or Jim Burrow for the best #2.

Here's my 1 through 15:
1. Phillips in a landslide, unless you can't get past the off-the-field stuff. Westerkamp comes to mind as the next guy on the list.
2. Corey Dixon or Jim Burrow, but Von Sheppard was brilliant if not for injuries
3. Toby Wright, though Eric Warfield is a close second
4. Lavonte David (although my favorite Husker athlete to wear #4 was John Cole)
5. DeJuan Groce
6. Sammy Sims
7. Eric Crouch
8. Tyrone Williams
9. Russell Gary or Steve Taylor
10. Mike Minter or Bret Clark
11. Tough one - maybe Matt Herian or Terry Luck?
12. Turner Gill edges out Dave Humm
13. Zac Taylor, because he was a conference POY
14. Tagge, but Barron Miles was fantastic
15. Tommie Frazier, with Vince Ferragamo worth a mention
