For Nebraska to get back to being a 10 win type program, it will take a great coach who hires like assistants, it's that simple. Nebraska had its two great coaches in Devaney and Osborne, it's hard to tell when the next one shows up. Like throwing darts at a board, you hope to get a bullseye.
I remember when Colorado hired McCartney. Like him or not, he was good at three things: hiring good assistants, recruiting, motivating. He wasn't an X&O type of guy, he delegated to his assistants, expected a lot from his players, and motivated them. Nebraska's next coach better be PROVEN in those capacities.
