That blocking by Stanley is akin to sparky entering the market to get Old Mil Lite.

But as for the topic of the thread ... Didn't Riley in his presser today say that there weren't enough big runs in the game because of lackluster blocking from the receivers? Sounded to me like he was calling out Williams. But that might just be my overactive imagination. Or bladder. I confuse those two things

In the first half, I saw LOTS of guys (all positions) standing around down field. It was odd. Not so much in the second half...
I don't think we can underestimate how much these young guys were affected by the Foltz tribute in that first half. I think they were mailing it in out of being emotionally drained and thinking after they went up 14-0 that they could get away with it. I think the 14-10 score got their attention.
I remember when I was an undergrad at a small college in northern Kentucky. One of our circle of friends was killed in a car wreck. Hit by a drunk driver. I remember what an emotional wreck we were. Young people have not very often had to face mortality ... especially among one of their own. It hits deep and hard.
Obviously not breaking longer runs has been an issue ever since these guys got here. I was thinking it was at least partly because our OLinemen aren't getting to the LBs like they need to, but it's probably a combination of OLine and Receivers. But Terrell Newby going down too easily doesn't help much either.
From what I saw, Tre Bryant and Wilbon are our two best pure runners. Newby is better than he was, but he does not have that ability to make people miss

I think Ozigbo is plenty good, and runs powerfully. Bryant runs hard and has better quicks. We need more data from Wilbon. And Newby has been a drive killer since he got on campus. His vision is just poor and he doesn't run with purpose.
Oh don't get me wrong, I like Ozigbo. But we need an Abdullah type back who can make people miss, and turn a 4 yard gain into a 12 yard gain

I know you can't make a judgement on just seeing a few runs, but I think our top 2 guys look like Ozigbo and Bryant.
