its being reported that Gordon is back with the Royals Monday. Question now is who plays. Also, the big teams can add more people to the roster soon. I wonder who the Rs will add. While the Royals have been playing great, I think they are going to have problems with Houston or Toronto. It's going to be interesting

The Royals will likely have homefield advantage in the playoffs. They won both series vs Houston and Toronto in KC. Secondly, those teams won't get the benefit of facing flyball pitchers like Chris Young or Guthrie in their own ballparks. ... And this team will be completely different once Zobrist and Gordon are in the lineup together..

I think the main thing the Royals will do in September is add a couple of relief arms so they can back off their front-line relievers. Even if this costs them 2 or 3 games down the stretch, it shouldn't affect their postseason seeding. GIve the top relievers enough work to keep them sharp, but ease their workload a bit so they are ready for October.

It'll be refreshing to have Alex back. Now, they can have an outfield of Gordon, Cain and Zobrist, and finally put Rios on the shelf where he belongs. I thought coming into the season Rios would be a great addition. I certainly didn't expect to have his former numbers, but I figured he was good for 15 HR's. Looking at it now, I'd rather have Aoki back instead of him. Dyson and Paulos are great backups, too. As far as call-ups, the Gore kid would be a nice addition, as he adds speed. But aside from that KC looks fine. Toronto and the Yankees concern me, but KC hopefully will have home field advantage.....hopefully, unless they run into a late season lull and Toronto continues to stay hot. Then things could get interesting for KC. I gotta say, for me, being a Royals fan, this has been the most enjoyable season in almost 20 years. It has me not even ready for football season.
