Went on the road in conference on a short week and beat a team coming off a bye convincingly.

D starting to look good, we've got some pretty darn good WR (catch the ball Morgan) and RB with an OL that can't get much worse (play with intensity Hogs) showing some improvement.

Special teams play is sound.

What's not to like here? The fact most guys up-front still need more time in the weight room? Speed at CB and OLB? We knew that already. Let's lighten up a little...

Need Jones and Kalu badly

Big time. Defense is playing great, but we seriously lack talent at CB. Jones will make us better there right away and getting Kalu will allow us to play more nickel, etc. The ironic part is, Lee and Jackson were the two highest rated recruits on the defense.

I agree, we are lacking overall sideline to sideline speed on defense and they still need that true pass rusher. I think the offensive line is still blocking like we still have a mobile quarterback, thinking the quarterback can get out of trouble with his feet. I like how they starting to roll Lee out it bit more. He is very hesitant to run no matter the situation.

Jones won't be playing before November. And even that is pushing it. At least I hope the team dr's won't let him jeopardize his career and let him come back early

IF a change is made, the new coach will want to bring in his own guys.
They always keep a couple from the old staff and JP would seem like a guy that would make sense to keep, obvious reasons.

There have been noticeable differences in scheme from the first few weeks and these past weeks.
Don't give me the crap about arky state and Oregon necessitating an entirely different scheme, they don't and there is a lot of difference out there. Whatever we were trying to do against arky and Oregon sucked ass and didn't work and I think DIaco realized it, even the outside backers and d line line up differently I'd rather not go into an 8 paragraph analysis.
The D Line is playing monsterous. I know these past few weeks have been shit teams, but freedom, Davis, stoltenberg (who people dissed coming into the year) and co are our best unit right now offense or defense. It helps when we bring another guy and get them in one on one situations.
One thing that hasn't changed that pisses me off is our depth against receivers.
There was a play last night where we brought five...the way our d line was playing, the QB HAD to get rid of the ball early. We had 10-15 yard cushion, even at the snap. Football 101 says hey it's a blitz, play tight, it either allows your defenders to get there because the QB has to wait longer for his guys to get open, or he throws right away and you are there for the knock away or at least the tackle.
The aforementioned play resulted in a short catch and 10 yard run for the first down. Had we had tight coverage, it would have been a five yard gain and here comes the punt team.
That NEEDS to change to give our blitzes, dline, and corners a chance on plays in which we gamble.
