Frost got a four star to receiver to flip. He ended up with a couple four stars and a bunch of 3 star guys. Getting the #56 class is great for UCF considering he had so few days to recruit. Looks like a solid recruiter.

Hopefully Riley will get the ship headed in the right direction and then hand it off to Frost.

I give Frost a D+, #56 in the state of Florida isn't all that impressive. I do however love the 4 star WR flip, that shows major closing speed. I assume Frosty will have much improved recruiting going forward, I know he didn't have a lot of time so I think under the circumstances he did well.

...for the future of UCF, you mean?

Hilarious...This is their highest rated class in the last five years.

2016--56
2015--63
2014--73
2013--73
2012--90

And he did it after the Knights had O-fer for their record in 2015...and he did it in the span of two months.

this year could tell us a lot in terms of being good news for us. I don't see frost sticking around UCF very long if he's successful. and if he doesn't stick around and we stick with MR for 4-5 years Frost most likely will be unavailable.

Yeah I think I already mentioned considering the time frame he did well, so thanks for agreeing with me, and I expect he'll do even better every year going forward. If a #56 rated class fires you up, then I expect you'll give Nebraska an A this year then, right? Also, WTF do I care about where they were, your post was talking about this year. #56 while sitting in the state of Florida is not that great, doesn't mean he failed though either.

To those of you who are fond of handing out grades, recruiting is not a test, but a project. Frost was handed a particularly difficult assignment and turned in good work on short turnaround. Let's see what he can do once he's there for an entire cycle.

"He did well"..."I give Frost a D+."

Ummmmm...OK.

Way to cherry pick a few words and get to where you need to be to give me a hard time and gloss over everything else I said in between. Dork. Considering the situation he did well, I rank his class as a D though...and I bet if his name wasn't Frost, you would to.
No...no I wouldn't be handing out D's if this was someone else. If your team doesn't win a game but you haul in the best recruiting class in the last five years and do it in two months your grade starts with the letter "A".

Yeah I don't get why tom gets to move goal posts for frost but chides people for their stance on Riley. Interesting.

56 is 56. If Riley at 25 is a disappointment then what is 56? Smokin

really ! there is a difference Riley took over for a fired coach who sucked at recruiting we expected much improvement and got a little - Frost took over for a fired coach and team that won zero games and produced their best class in a number of numbers - Its a little different

I wish him the best at UCF. I wish Riley the best at NU.

It's a combo of coaching AND talent that produce superior results.

GBR

Hmmmmm...already laying the groundwork for next year I see. Hey, since #25 is solid then if we hit #25 again next year then we are solid. Sick

Sorry if you feel picked on… I thought the emoticon would make it clear that I was just joking. I guess not.

Frost got a four star to receiver to flip.

It's been rumored for quite awhile he's an academic risk. Good for Scott on grabbing him, not a major grab though considering...

More than likely Scott will continue recruiting strong (their standards) at UCF.

This. See Dantonio and his crew at MSU. No top 10 finishes in recruiting last 8 years, but still in the teens in a couple years yet still perennially hard to beat. Just ask Urban Meyer... This is the type of format I think Nebraska needs to be successful. Next year's 2017 class is THE class to me (3rd year of recruiting for HCMR).

Hope you don't grade everything that critically. Taking over for a pathetic coach of 0-12 team just over 5 weeks ago, having to hire assistants, and pulling the #56 ranking on such a short notice is doing an excellent job. Recruiting is all about relationships established over multiple yrs. It's a wonder any highly-ranked kid would come there. All the big boys are in Florida. Solid B+

If the 4 star WR doesn't qualify and they drop to ???# 68(ish)? Are you excited about that if his name isn't Frost? I hope he kills it there and he eventually (in the not to distant future) brings his Florida success with him. Didn't mean to go this far, and I'm rooting for him. He prolly isn't thrilled about the # 68ish ranked class either and will be the first to tell you he will want to do better. But if the WR sticks, great. Even better for us IMO if our master plan is going to come to fruition. We all want this to happen, Frost to NU. Right?

I am not so sure there is any plan for Frost coming to Nebraska from either side.

Frost produced the second best results in the AAC and I assign more weight there then overall rank. UCF has a goal of being a member of the Big 12 and if that were to happen they will be able to afford to keep Frost.

This one I am going to disagree with you on (grade), without being a dick and attacking you for it.

SF has been there for like a month, assembled a staff, and put together the 56th ranked recruiting class in the nation.....with a team that went winless. I think that is pretty impressive for first time HC. Hope he does well there.

Absolutely. I wanted him before Riley was hired, but I knew SE wouldn't have it. Check out the post from the UCF fan about what the Orlando newspaper thought about his hire. Good stuff.

It's interesting that Frost with a partial staff and less than 2 months to recruit to a team that went O fer last year, finished with a class ranked about like Franks last two classes at NU.......:oops:

I agree with much of this and thanks for the gentlemanly reply. I am happy to give him and A for effort, as I know it ain't easy being in that spot.

I have no idea what their QB position is like and who they have coming in, but I hope they are in very good shape there. I'd think the OC from Oregon with a good QB could make some significant strides in upgrading their talent and record and give him a jumpstart to early success. Gawd I hope he works out there, so much so that he has legit options, and chooses us.

I see what you are saying here, but I also know that the expectation is high for KJJ and Company. It is understandable to be optimistic about next years recruiting, just know that KJJ may not commit to us in the end.
