Good first weekend stat

37 strikeouts vs 8 walks.

Hope that trend continues
Yeah, that was a real eye opener for me.

Both Waldrons were 10 Ks and 1 walk
Fisher was 6 and 0
Curry/Gomes went 5 and 1
And Ben Klenke, how about this, 4 Ks, 0 walks.

That is what I've been watching most to start the year and into this weekend. I feel the defense will get better as we play more and more on natural grass. The hitting will have slumps at times because that's just baseball. The question is will we have the consistent pitching to win games during those peaks and valleys at the plate?

So many local kids on the mound doing a really good job.
What many forget is the 2005 squad (which could be argued as the best of all time) was made up of mostly Nebraska kids or kids in bordering states (about 80% of the roster). Which is also why I feel our standards should always remain high at Nebraska.

There’s no arguing about that 2005 group. It’s the best team Dear Old Nebraska U. has ever fielded. They won 57 games, were the #3 national seed and finished 5th in Omaha. I’m still angry about the season-ender against those cheaters from Arizona State.
