Not that MR would contact Golson, but I don't think I'd want the guy. Soooo many turnovers.

I'm not so sure he would be that much of an upgrade over TA. Looks like Golson lost a step or two after his season off... lots more turnovers. Compare Golson's and TA's games against USC... Golson was terrible and their team got blown out. Tommy played one of his best games, although USC did drop a pick or two or five.

I would take him allll dayyyy long over TA. If Golson comes here it makes us a big time contender and I think MR isn't afraid to make that move.

The problem with bringing him on is that he probably wants assurance of being the starter. I don't think that would go over well in the locker room.

We don't have the talent Notre Dame had when they went to the NC game. Not even close.

I would say yes westerkamp, allen, collins, carter, Pierson-el, chrles jaskon, davie, gerry, foltz, cross or newby (depending who gets the load), sterup, Reeves, lewis, Reilly, mcmullen, valentine

Turns the ball over too much. On the spectrum of higher-profile senior/graduate transfers, Golson is closer to the Sam Keller end than the Russell Wilson end. Golson hasn't been good enough to take reps from players who'll contend for the QB position in 2016.

Plus, he seems like the opposite of what Riley wants in a QB at this point = a QB that doesn't lose games. Taking on a guy with spotty performance and ball security issues doesn't seem like the best course of action.

I have a real hard time believing Cjax, Foltz, Taariq Allen, Cross and Reilly get drafted

Why would it no go over well in the locker room everyone knows QB is our weakest position

I doubt that the players view it quite as convincingly as you assume everyone does. From what I understand, TA is highly respected in the locker room. To just give the job to an outsider would undermine much of the goodwill MR has mustered thus far. The outsider would have to be a clear and obvious upgrade, and even then there could be some lingering resentment. it's debatable if Ghoulson is even an upgrade, and if so not by much.

Higher upside than how Armstrong has played, but also fumbles quite a bit. Remember when Sam Keller was going to be a super awesome one-year upgrade?

These one year free agent transfers are not a good way to build a program... everybody points to Russel Wilson in 2010... but they still lost four games that season and then were worse off the next season when they tried to do it again with the guy from Maryland.

We dont need a Notre Dame has been... but if Braxton Miller transfers... i could entertain that idea

No need for Golson here, IMO. Good QB though.

"blowing up the locker room" is a joke. Isn't what was going to happen when Bo left? Oh waittt. Change is a good thing. TA sung the ship just as much as Bo did.

Out of every single quarterback that we've had at Nebraska, no one has had more yardage (passing and total) in a bowl game than Armstrong. Definitely not terrible... He didn't play well against MSU and Wisky but had a pretty good season overall. Played very well against Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa and others.

Actually it was the 2011 season and Wisconsin with Russell Wilson lost only 3 games and were Big 10 Champs.

2 of those loses were in the last 2 minutes of the game and their 3rd loss was in the Rose Bowl by 7 against Oregon.
