I have it on good authority that White wasn't coming back regardless, not his choice. That would jive with him going to a place that didn't have that great of potential job security.

He got a 3 year guaranteed contract. At that salary, that's pretty damned good job security. I think FSU going after the coordinators they did is going to buy the head coach at least 2 years.

I don’t understand why people can’t see that we had to play coverage because our db’a were vulnerable in man. That wasn’t a scheme issue. It was a personnel issue. First season ever Nebraska didn’t allow a rushing touchdown at home the whole year. Back to back top 20 defenses. And yet it’s not enough. The defense wasn’t the issue last year or this year.

This. I swear people think nebraska is the only team whose defense gives up any points to the other team. Look around people, even top ten teams give up points from time to time.

Indiana killed us, bad game. I thought Illinois was perhaps worse. Singleton was horrible at an elementary level that game and that bothered ,e regarding white. But im also realisitic and know its not always going to be perfect snd we were a dom throw away from winning that game. (Ucla was also bad but the 2nd half was better plus injuries).

Top 20 defense with our poor offense especially last year is pretty damn good. White is a good coach. I hope we find someone good or better to replace him, and maybe we will! But lets not act like its easy to just have a top 20 defense. Playing iowa helps for sure, but he should get credit for doing what he was supposed to. Remember that iowa rbwas getting big yards on other teams.

Yes. Screw the total defense stats. We gave up too many chunk plays and did not stop offenses when it mattered. Ohio State game is a great example. Played good defense the whole game and then, when we took the lead in the 4th, OSU marched the length of the field, chewed clock, and scored.

Yes our offense sucked. But so does Iowa’s and yet their defense did something ours never does: made a play at the end of the game that mattered. Michigan managed to hang on to a 13-10 lead over OSU. Us? Ha. But we played great in the second half against UCLA! Too bad the game has two halves. Because the first one was a back breaker.

Illinois? Shit. White got totally out coached in that game. Indiana? 😂😂😂

I am also tired of the melodrama. Will he stay or go? Fvck him. Go find us a fvcking DC who likes Lincoln and wants to be here.

We better find a d coordinator who gets offers yearly to other schools to be HC and is tempted by them.

I think most people would feel weird if your boss brought in someone to watch you work. Hell, I can't even type correctly when someone is looking over my shoulder.

If you are not happy at your job and if you know other places want you and will pay you a little more, it is easy to leave.

Of course you cant type on rivals well during school when your boss is around.

Norvell has a rather fat buyout. It's cheaper to hire two coordinators that know what they are doing and let Norvell figure out how to be a P4 HC.

I considered this bad news initially, but then I remembered how we came from behind to take second half leads 3 times this season (twice in the 4th quarter), only to have the defense immediately give up a TD on the opponent’s next possession. I also remember at least 3 games last year where the defense had held a team in check for most of 4 quarters, only to give up a game winning drive at the end.

Plus, he nearly left last year.
