Hey guys/gals just seeing a steep contrast in officiating for us during home games compared to other teams, seems like we dont get many homer calls and it seems like the opposite is true.

I am just asking the good peeps on RSS who are better armchair coaches then myself to weigh in here because maybe I am just being too much of a homer and everything is just A ok.

A few plays that stuck out to me yesterday:

1. Reilly catch where they ruled it a catch on the field but then reversed it on replay. The replays that I saw clearly indicate that he made a catch on that and the ball never touched the ground. That was a huge completion in a close game at the time that carried momentum. Not sure how the officials can overrule the call on the field with the replay. Seems like it was a hose job.

2. The fair catch signal that they said wasnt a fair catch signal by the WY punt returner. Yes this one didnt cost us many yards as WY was backed up, but come on, where was the flag?

3. The Gerry PF call where he handed the QB the ball, the QB immediately throws the ball at Gerrys back, so that should have at least been an offsetting penalty which does not cost us 15 yards. But no offsetting penalty, only 15 against us.

Yes I know officials are human and make mistakes, but it seems to me that we get the short end of the stick AT HOME over the years from the zebras. I say this because when I see other teams example: tOSU, it is a night and day difference.

Watching tOSU yesterday vs Tulsa, it would seem like they are being protected from high up on a mountain top by the prince of darkness himself when it comes to officiating, it honestly makes me ill to see it.

Early in the game vs Tulsa yesterday with Tulsa driving in a 3 to 3 game, Tulsa on a 3rd and five WR catches the ball, and is brought down right on the 1st down marker. It was clearly obvious he had the 1st down, as in no question about it. This is a momentum drive for Tulsa, tied 3 to 3 driving the ball a 1st down means some points and momentum for Tulsa. So what happens? They review the play, no problem right, guy had the 1st down easy. Nope. After the replay they spot the ball get this: Like a full yard behind the 1st down marker. I was like WTF? HUH? So result Tulsa has to punt, you just knew, this is not going to end well for Tulsa.

So Tulsa Punts and right on cue, tOSU starts driving down the field. So on a 3rd down, to where tOSU doesnt get the 1st down they are going to have to settle for a FG. The RB gets stopped short, like a half a yard short of the marker. It was pretty obvious he was short. Yet the officials, mark the ball like a half a yard beyond the 1st down marker. No replay, no 2nd look, just blatant homer call. Resulted in of course a 1st down and a TD for tOSU which certainly changed the momentum.

After that call I was too sick to my stomach to watch anymore of that nonsensical officiating to favor ol Urb and tOSU so there may have been more egregious stuff.

Anyways, does anyone else share the opinion that it seems like for the last several years that we seem to be getting a bit of the short end of the stick from the officials when it comes to our home games? Or am I just too much of a Homer to see that it has been going both ways?

Thoughts?
