If he doesn’t hire Frost he’s crazy. UCF’s offense leads the nation in scoring and is in the top 5 in total offense. I haven’t seen those stats since the Osborne days. I remember reading that NU lead the country in rushing, scoring, total offense week after week, year after year. Bring back Frost! If he can infuse some of the power option game in with his current offense it would be really tough to stop. If Moos hires Leach or anybody else I’m done with this program.

Frost would unite the fan base and bring in some much needed excitement and hope into the program!

You remember when Turner was at Buffalo and had done an amazing turnaround of their program, a program that had never tasted success? We were about to hire Callahan’s replacement. There were dozens of threads here just like this one. But we passed on Turner and then watched another Power 5 school, Kansas, snatch him up.

So I guess we really goofed. A great former Husker qb and assistant coach who would have stayed at Lincoln as long as we wanted him, had great values, was beloved by all. I guess we really messed up. We’d better not repeat that mistake, right?

I don't think it is a slam dunk that the Huskers get Scott Frost. If Moos can't persuade him to come back home I hope he is prepared to go after another good coach. I don't think hiring Callahan and Riley were the first choice of Pedersen or Eichorst.

We'll never know what Turner would have accomplished here. Just because he failed at KU (where pretty much everybody has) doesn't mean that he wouldn't have had as much or more success than Bo had. I guarantee he wouldn't have left the program in as bad a shape.

Turner didn't do that great at Buffalo. We went 5-7 the year before KU hired him. His best season was 8-6 in a terrible conference. He never had them anywhere close to being ranked like UCF is.

By the way, maybe it would be a good idea to just have one "Official Scott Frost Thread" for this message board? Pretty much every single thread is about him these days.

Never heard of him, but sounds like a great hire! Make it happen Moos!!!

I almost want us to hire Frost just to end all the talk and discussion of it. But personally, I’m hoping Riley wins enough to keep his job. Starting over sucks. And I still contend we can’t afford to lose another recruiting class.

Global Frost thread merger alert!!!
I would love to see all the Frost threads merged. It might encourage discussion about the current season that is underway while still letting people make 50,000 comments about Frost.

If we would just hire him, these posts would end.

But they would be replaced by the other coalition dumping on him, thread after thread.
I don’t think he gets dumped on by anybody. People saying they’re not convinced he is the right guy doesn’t automatically make him the wrong guy...

He will get the benefit of the doubt until he fails, if that is what happens.

Ooorrrrrr

For the first time since forever, Nebraska could have an actual, open, professional coaching search instead of a laser focus on one person which has gotten repetitive results.

Maybe Frost is the best hire, maybe not...

Whaaaat? You can't do that. The decision needs to be made yesterday and the only correct decision is Frost. If it isn't Frost, the program will cease to exist and the faux sell out streak ends and Nebraska becomes Illinois.

This is true, I saw it on a google.

You are done with this program if we don't hire Frost? Something tells me then you were never with the program

Christ, it almost seems that way. It’s almost gotten stupid all the Frost stuff. No offense to Frost but I wish UCF would start losing games left and right so all this would just stop. If Riley gets fired after this season, we need to do a fully out coaching search. We need to try for any and all big time, proven coaches out there and just keep working it till we get the best possible Coach. We will need it because our recruiting class this year will fall apart in a hurry when Riley is fired.

The sad and weird thing is is that that might be true. We’re stuck in a cycle of bringing in coaches that are outsiders and they continue to fail.

And if that happened would it not be fair? I seriously don't get worked up over it because no one is asking my opinion and I don't get a vote. There could be some very distressed people before this is all over. I dare say that if another person we did not know was in the same boat as SF there would be more people carping about why he should not even be in the radar. As they say, darned if you do and darned if you don't. The internet makes everyone and everything fair game. Suddenly we have a lot more "qualified opinions" than we formerly did. :)

We don't get a vote in this decision nor should we of course. But I often read on here that what we say does not matter so just chill. Not bad advice actually, and it is, after all, just a damn football team. It isn't life or death or... good barbecue.
But, I would argue that in some small way forums like this do matter. Just like the gossip over a water cooler at work can become a narrative in the workplace for better or for worse. And this is one forum among many for fans to express themselves. There are also radio call in shows. Finally, the administration lives in the Lincoln community and is in touch with fans all over the country. And whatever the Husker "water cooler" narrative has become, it is heard. They do take it into consideration. It would be hard for them to miss, for example, the ten million different ways Husker fans are saying "fire Riley and get Frost". They are human. They know what the popular and unpopular choices would be. And it matters.

Trust me. We've tried. Randy and I have combined at least 10 or 12 into a thread titled "Scott Frost". It has become a losing battle though. I think that thread is on page 2 now and about 6 or 7 pages long.

I don't think those situations are identical.
