Four-Star Husker target Thomas Fidone was one of the top...

Never been to a game at Iowa, but have been to Iowa City several times... not a big fan. Lincoln is a much better college town and as pretty much every national analyst will tell you the game day environment in Lincoln is as good as it gets. One of the top 5 blue bloods of CFB is on the way back with a full rebuild underway. Kids want to be a part of that.

Lincoln is ok “if you like railroad tracks”.

Frost put Aikins in the NFL at UCF and hasn’t had draft eligible TE here yet, plenty to sell the kid on. Plus, he can play in front of sellout crowds that care about their own team and aren’t just obsessed with big brother to the west.

Did Frost recruit him?

Iowa. The state that has signs advertising that they have modern rest areas.

i geuss you better get better info before posting here.

This kid has told many different stories,He has told kids in his school he's just playing the recruiting game and Iowa is where he was born and lived and will always come first to all.Kids go to school there and know him..Hopefully he decides who has the best chance of getting him to the next level, but iowa just put 2 of there te in the nfl, while our te lack .
You are the guy that said he had only been to Nebraska once and I need better info??? That’s golden. But tell us more about the teenage gossip you have heard.

and you are the one who thinks he is in the know..he was just hanging out in twin city in cb iowa, maybe you should camp out there and see if you can get a interview.
It’s a school night, go to bed kid.

Your funny ,but about as dumb as .... and should never be taken for someone to have all the inside info..Maybe you should lay off posting useless info
Go ahead, finish your thought. If you wanted to prove him wrong, you really failed with your inability to complete a simple task like proper grammar and proof of any length of an attention span.

Being a husker fan as you are i will never have a problem with, but

You shouldnt talk back to people older then you! i use to be told i would f a snake if you hold its head and in my time a banged alot of fat bearded walrus bitches and im sure one of them was your mother and she use to hang out on my bar..Just joking lol Have a good night!

First, you spout off incorrect information about how many times the kid has visited. Then, you talk about what the teenagers at his schools are saying and where the kid is hanging out. Now, you are bragging about banging bearded fat chicks? It's probably time to head back to the Iowa board, I think you will fit in better there.

Having to drive from Iowa City to Lincoln to visit family, I can vouch for the quality of Iowa's rest areas. All these obese people have to stop somewhere to relieve themselves.

You can really make up some time during your trip to Lincoln on Iowa’s paved section of I-80. Once you cross into Nebraska you have to slow down due to the ruts in the gravel. I was always amazed how the Nebraska Dept of Roads could paint white lines on a gravel interstate.

Throwing in the bs card. FOR YEARS you have to drive 10 MPH slower in io a than NE. Why I don't know. Guess cops must ticket at alower level.

But but iowas got pigs, at least the ones they dont eat. Iowa fan found out its best to kill pigs before cutting on them early on, but they're still learning about the cooking part.

If you don’t think Iowa has a shot with Fidone you are crazy. He knows how much Iowa uses their tight ends. His decision will come down to if he wants to follow his head or his heart. Using his head he knows Iowa puts tight ends in the league or he follows his heart being a true Husker fan. Either way following his recruitment will be fun. Bollers on the other hand will come down to Nebraska or Wisky due to his preference for playing in a 3-4. The wildcard for him will be if Stanford comes in for an offer.

I think this is pretty accurate, but you might need to dumb it down for obobbo.

Have you seen your schedule? You guys could be in some serious trouble.
Oh it’s no walk in the park by any means but the Hawks have only had a record like that when Kirk was first hired and maybe one other time. Kirk and staffs history says it’s highly unlikely but anything is possible.

Fidone getting a lot of offers right now since blowing up a the AA Combine. Missouri and Arkansas in the past few days.

Unfortunately he saw how much iowa used their tight ends in 2019...which was less than nebraska.

What? Noah Fant was severely under-used his last season at Iowa. When the media asked Ferentz why, he said Fant "is more of a specialist".

Kittle was underutilized at Iowa. His college stats were very "meh" and he was drafted in the 5th round. No doubt the Hawks have had a few great ones, but let's try to at least stick to facts. Kittle had to go to a different team to be developed. The 49rs stole him because he looked average in Iowa's decrepit offense.

This is completely false. Kittle developed quite a bit at Iowa.

Here's some reading for you on the subject.

https://www.espn.com/blog/san-franc...orge-kittle-became-the-49ers-mr-indispensable

When Kittle arrived on Iowa's campus, he was 6-foot-2, 201 pounds. In need of added size and muscle, he redshirted his freshman season and began a process that would see him grow another inch and add 50 pounds.

Since he wasn't counted on to contribute on game day as a freshman, Kittle worked on the scout team in a variety of roles. It was there Kittle embraced the idea that the more he could do, the better his chances of getting meaningful playing time.

It's also where Ferentz first saw signs Kittle would grow into the player he is now. Ferentz knew Kittle was a good athlete but noted his relentless motor. When Kittle would jump in with the scout-team offense, he gave the starting defense fits with his ability to get open and make contested catches.

Kittle's willingness to do the dirty work made for a natural progression, as Ferentz and his staff hammered home the importance of being not just a willing blocker, but a dominant one.

"We asked him to block as well as being good in the passing game," Ferentz said. "And it’s probably fair to suggest that the passing game came easier to him at the front end of his career. But, you know, just like he's got better in all areas, and certainly is a lot more physical, a lot more mature now than he ... it's not even close to what he was as a freshman."

Iowa strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle still marvels at how Kittle managed to add weight so methodically as he gained about a pound a month every year for four straight years.

"It was steady," Doyle said. "It took a lot of diligence, and it just took time. Even when he went to the NFL, he was still developing. In my mind his best football was still ahead of him."

I attribute that to the Greg Davis offense. Man that hire sucked.

Do you like little Farentz better?
I do. The offense did pretty good this year overall considering guard play wasn’t great and a freshman center. Lack of tight end presence most of the year was an issue too. Think it dwindled the playbook a bit. With LaPorta emerging there at the end things looked a lot better. I think the offense is moving in the right direction.

Need to get TJ, better prospect to pan out, imo.

Ok, I'm sure I will get blasted. As of right now (again, right now), I don't see Fidone making an impact in college. Kid is gifted athletically, no argument there. He's only a junior, he could end up being a monster next year and dominating. But, from the games I saw this year, and basketball so far, he will be a bust in college.

Again, just my opinion. Could certainly end up being wrong.

I would be concerned about QB development if I were Iowa. Stanley didn't seem any better now than he was a couple of years ago. Just a guy basically and not a difference maker. Put a well above avg QB on that team this year and they may have been undefeated playing Ohio St in the title game. Instead, they scored a combined 37 pts in their 3 losses.

Fidone will work in college. His only worry is usage, what team uses him best. If he becomes a specialist, his playing time might be reduced at iowa.
No one knows where he ends up physically at this point, we all will have better ideas next season at some point.
I could see him as a do it all guy, a specialist too. Hickman, unless he grows some is currently like that.

Whoever gets him, between iowa or us, will be getting a great player, but its possible Nebraska may find more ways to use him, depending on how complete he grows into becoming all around or specialist.

A lot wasn’t on Nate this year. Better guard play and a tight end presence earlier would have went a long ways. He definitely has his faults but really think he got a lot of unwarranted criticism.
