Louisville Slugger National Players of the Week
1B - Buddy Putnam, South Florida
Putnam belted four home runs with 10 RBIs over 4 games as he went 7-for-16 at the plate
CF - Matt Albanese, Bryant
Albanese delivered four home runs with 8 RBIs over 3 games as he went 4-for-10 at the plate. He homered in all three games
LHP - Alex Lange, LSU
Lange matched a career-high 13 strikeouts over 7 innings as he gave up one run during a 7-3 win over Kentucky.
RHP - Joe Ingle, East Carolina
Ingle struck out 10 batters in 5 1/3 innings over three relief appearances. He didn't allow a run and gave up one hit.
Pitchers Kyle Kubat, Jake Hohensee, Colton Howell, and Jeff Chesnut, Nebraska
For the first time in history, four pitchers from one school have been named Louisville Slugger National Players of the Week. But for good reason. These four pitchers combined to strike out 19 Texas hitters during a 1-0, 15 inning win over the Longhorns. It was the most strikeouts by a Husker staff since 2009 when NU notched 22 punch outs in a 15-inning game against Louisiana-Lafayette. After the Longhorns produced three hits through the first three innings, Texas didn't record another hit until the 14th inning with a single -- a mid-game 9-inning no-hitter.
RHP - Carson Fulmer, Vanderbilt
Fulmer struck out a career-high 12 Tennessee batters over eight scoreless innings during a 9-0 win over the Volunteers. He recorded at least one strikeout in seven of his eight innings.
RHP - Jayson Rose, Utah
Rose fanned a career-high 11 batters over six innings during a 3-2 win over California. He only walked one batter.
LHP - Justin Jacome, UC-Santa Barbara
Jacome struck out a career-high 12 batters in a 9-inning, complete game, 3-1 win over Long Beach State. He only allowed one earned run on four hits.
