For those that think Riley will be just fine once he gets his 4 star pro style qb…You're probably wrong.
Exhibit A: Sean Mannion 3rd round draft pick by the St. Louis Rams

Exhibit B:

This guy was a 4 star pro style qb recruited out of California by Danny Langsdorf and Bruce Reed. Basically the same qb as POB. Let's face it, Langs and Riley did their job with Mannion just as they would wit POB, they developed him into an NFL quarterback, and they even recruited him a 4 star WR in Brandon Cooks. They made this guys life work out pretty damn well.
Exhibit C:

Here's the problem…While Mannion was setting passing records in 2013 and 2014 his teams went 12-13. That's right, he had an NFL caliber qb that was 4 star out of HS and the record for the last two seasons was under .500. So even as an NFL caliber qb seems to cover up and lift programs to do great things for a run while they are there, it appears under the Riley system, it doesn't do shit for you at Oregon State.
Keep in mind that only under ideal circumstances POB turns out to be just as good as Mannion or just a bit worse…but that is far from a gauruntee that this staff can give us a winner even if POB works out. I would love to have a chance to talk with Eichorst to figure out exactly what the fv#k he was thinking when he came to the conclusion that Mike Riley and his out dated offenses and defenses would be the answer for Nebraska.
