I grew up in Lincoln. Read about Alaska in National Geographic in 1967 at age of 7. I dreamed of living there. So wild, so remote, those things appealed to me as a child as I started to follow Nebraska football.

I heard my father swear the first time on Thanksgiving 1967 when Oklahoma beat us 47-0 or something like that. I was hooked on Nebraska football from then on. If it was so important that my father swore it was important to me.

Years later I am living my dream on Kodiak Island and following the Huskers.

I am all about a person following their dream, and I hope our coach of desire follows his dream whatever it is. If it is to coach at Nebraska, good for him.

I can attest to the fact that if you follow your dream you will be satisfied.

Moved here after second year at Lincoln. Never regretted a minute of following my dream.

Hope it works for Scott

Good for you. My dad lived in Alaska for years. He lived on "Admiralty Island". Went to visit him once and the fishing was just incredible. That was one of his dreams. I am glad he and you got to fulfill that.

Spectrum, thank you for posting this. I was going to post something exactly like this. After seeing Bill Moos’ entrance into the UNL Athletic Department, he has inspired me with just his press conferences and the way that he has mapped out his blueprint as an AD at Oregon, Washington State and now Nebraska. It’s just a no BS approach and I commend him for it. I believe he will have success here at Nebraska. Yes, I know it’s a little early to jump the gun but he impressed me so much that it is now officially my dream to become the Athletic Director at Nebraska in the future.

I’m still young enough that one day (mid 20s), I would love to become the Nebraska AD. I am in a decently close industry (action sports) that simply with the right connections (attainable for me) and the right amount of experience, I could work my way up with lots of hard work.

I am 100% serious about this. Today on my way to work, I discovered this inner passion in myself. Yeah, this is total hallmark stuff on my part, but I felt an inner fire awaken today. Here’s to hoping the best for the next Nebraska coach and to all the dreamers and visionaries out there. GO BIG RED!

I use to ship a lot of construction material to Brechan Enterprises on Kodiak. The people were great to work with. They always wanted me to come up and go ptarmigan hunting. (I love bird hunting). That was an opportunity missed. I was spending most of my vacation and travel funds going back to Nebraska.
