Florida QB suspended for the season ...

Not necessarily. There's a lot of things available over the counter at nutrition stores that are perfectly "legal" but outlawed by the NCAA. That's what they're claiming here. Could be true. Could be a cover for real steroid use. Either, kid made a dumb choice. Key word is kid. He's a freshman.

What are the rules for failing PED tests? Are they different if the school catches them vs. the NCAA?

My friend who is a huge Florida fan told me he got something over the counter you could buy even at a place like Walmart...if true, this is such a sketchy rule. But you're right about the guy making a dumb choice.

Correct- a supplement you can buy at GNC. Let that be a lesson...you can take illegal drugs like marijuana or cocaine, rape or beat a woman (FSU), or have improper benefits and face less of a penalty than taking a perfectly legal over the counter supplement.

Great message to send kids.

Anyone here ever actually attempt to build muscle mass?

There's absolutely no way you put on 43 pounds in a year and still look like an athlete unless you are throwing down on PEDs. If he put on 25 lbs of lean mass and 18 pounds of fat, I'd buy it. Putting on almost 4 pounds of muscle every month for a year? Please tell me the coaching staff had no idea he was juicing....

He didn't put on 43 pounds in a year. He addressed that this spring. He was listed at 170 lbs, but he hadn't weighed that since he was like a sophomore in highs school and nobody every updated the information. When he came to UF he was in the 185-190 range. He was an EE and a year and a half later weighed a little over 200 lbs. So we are actually talking about 15-20 lbs tops in a year and a half. He was not "juicing"
