Of course back then NU ripped off 8 wins in a row after starting 1-2 and then played Clemson for the National Championship. That isn't going to happen this time around even if they win the rest of their games which isn't going to happen either.

I was curious when the last time was we started 1-2. Was thinking 80s. Yeah I don't see us winning out. Not all hope is lost if we don't win out either. It is all about how we play games. If we can keep games close, like we have so far, all is not lost. If we get blown out by good teams we may have something to be concerned about

Well, I remember the last time we were 1-2, was at both games, Iowa and Penn State. Iowa, we had Turner Gill on the bench and were outcoached and Penn state we were out refed. The old big 8 then was a two team race with NU and OU. These are different times.

Our two OOC wins that year were Auburn and Florida St. We ran the table after the PSU loss, then lost in the Orange Bowl to Clemson. We ended up ranked 9th.

Aub finished 5-6
Fla St finished 6-5
In 1981 not the same as today, so keep som perspective

I think the Penn State game you are referencing was 1982. The one where their tight end caught the ball out of bounds?

Realistically we will probably lose to MSU, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa and maybe Minnesota. I can see us possibly winning one or two of those games. But I have to also accept the possibility that we might lose to a lesser team we shouldn't. Bo was good for one loss like that every year.

Minnesota really sucks this year. Bo made them look better than they are. They beat Kent State like 10-7 today.

Well for the past Auburn could go 6-6 if they don't figure it out.

For this season, NU still finishes 6-2 in conference and can win the bowl game. See 50-50 games with Wisky and northwestern. Think Iowa is still a W and Minny I think the team sets up well against strength of their O vs strength of our D.

;You're right, this was the one in Lincoln, next year was the rip off game.

This team was not prepared to play yesterday! Simple fact. Lets hope they can clean up all the sloppy play and get better each game.

You think that's "realistic" ??

First 1-2 start since 1981 says a lot more about the weak opponents over the years than the 2015 team. For the last 15 years the program has made an obvious effort to schedule one good opponent, one middling, and a couple of softies. Mostly to get that 7th home game each year, but also to pad the win-loss record.

Maybe. But s win is a win. I wish we would have beat BYU and Miami 10-7
Both BYU and Miami are pretty good teams. Miami still had 5 players drafted last year, they still have plenty of talent just bad coaching. No doubt that Miami will be the fastest all around team we play this year. I knew Kaaya was going really improve from last year and it showed yesterday.

Based on what?

Why is it uneducated fans automatically repeat junk the announcers say during broadcast? Miami is not the fastest team we will face this season. Miami wasn't more talented then us or faster then us. They can appear that way when you are out of position. But that doesn't mean they are faster or more athletic l. You don't come back from 24 points down to tie up a game if the opposing team is more athletic or has more speed. And you definitely don't come back late in the game if you don't have depth.

I think it more had to do with piss poor coaching by Miami and every coach and player thinking this game was locked up. They simply took their foot off the gas and played it safe. A better coached Nebraska team took advantage of that. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see Miami was by far the more athletic and talented team. Their line manhandled every aspect of our O and D line. Their receivers were 5 yards ahead of our guys on every play. Their RBs beat us to the edges nearly every time. If Miami had a better coach they would have ended up beating us by 40+. Nebraska showed a ton of heart. I credit players and coaches for never giving up and mounting a great comeback... BUT this is still BOs team. That showed through 3 and half quarters. Until Riley can get players in here that were not corrupted by BO I don't see anything changing better talent or not.

Are you retarded, or are you just trying to troll? Serious question. You do realize that we have 10 walk ons, on our two deep right now and started 4 walk ons vs Miami. How many walk ons did Miami have starting for them on Saturday? How many walk ons on their 2 deep? I will give you the answer: 0, let me repeat. 0.

Let me ask you another question. How many of our players on Saturday would have started for Miami? Very few huh?

Lets also not forget we were playing two injured linebackers on Saturday and one Frosh that was injured. Why? Because of lack of talent and depth. Did you also forget VV was not playing either? Those linebackers that were injured were being backed up by a walk on and another Frosh. Our Frosh DE was backed up by..yes you guessed it a walk on.

Serious question: Besides Malik, what players on our team start at Miami? lolol I will let you contemplate that for a bit before you start making asinine comments on how "Miami wasnt faster, or more talented than us". That is one of the most asinine and ignorant statements I have heard in quite a while.

You seem to be a very negative person.
