Just as many of us have been saying all along. Some were preaching about, "Oh, let's see what he can do now that he finally has a true QB coach" and all sorts of other nonsense. Multiple head coaches and OCs had a good hard look at him and knew deep down he was not a true QB. I saw someone mention Matt Herian a few days ago and that is actually a nice little look at what HH could be at tight end. Similar size, similar straight-line speed.

And you really have to be amazed at what Head Coach Matt Rhule can do with a roster. Took a TIGHT END and found a way to win five games with him as a starting QB.

The time for a play-action bomb to the TE is almost upon us once more!

Finally, we got our most athletic player on the team moved to a position where he can be of more help. Playing just a few plays a game was a waste of Haarberg's talent and thank you Dana Holgorsen for putting Haarberg where he can do some good for the team. Haarberg has NFL talent, but it just wasn't as a QB and now let's see what Holgorsen can do with him. 😊

In all fairness Rhule was playing him there last year. Then Chubba got hurt and Sims blew up .

Yes of course, but you want to see him more than just a few plays a game. Haarberg has shown he can catch, and he most certainly can run.

Especially when he can still line up at QB/wildcat in short yardage situations if you want. You gain a potentially very good TE and you don’t lose the short yardage power plays.

For those of you that don't know, I'm a Badger Grad and a Husker Dad times 2.

I just can't believe Haarberg wasn't on the field every play this year. He totally reminds me of Owen Daniels from Wisconsin. He has the same body build as well.

Daniels was an Illinois high school All-State QB converted to tight end and Wisconsin. At Wisconsin, early in his college career, he was a back-up quarterback and played special teams, flanker, split end, and wingback.

THEN he plays 10 years in the NFL!!!!!

Coach Rhule, are you reading?????? HE SHOULD BE ON THE FIELD EVERY PLAY when we have the ball.

If he was the 3rd or 4th string QB, I'd agree. But considering he was our #2 QB, I kind of understand not having our #1 and #2 QBs out there on a consistent basis.

I just wish he could have/would have moved positions sooner as I feel like with his athleticism he has the potential to be quite a weapon.

First of all nobody can play every play . And secondly he was our Backup QB . What if he goes down and DR goes out. I understand what everyone is saying but it was just not possible for him to be on the field that much.

I think he would have won more than 6 games this year as a QB. He has a different skill set than DR, he’s more athletic and the most important part, he has excellent leadership ability. I would have liked to see a lot more of him at QB in his year 2, his most improved jump, and we barely got to see it, in lieu of a fat freshman who still needs to learn how to lead

If everything works out with Sims d Chubba not getting hurt he would have been at another position last year.

Totally agree!

He was also our backup QB this year. You couldn’t put him out on a regular basis.
I didn't make myself clear I guess I'm talking about him playing a lot more from this point on. However, I wouldn't have minded him play more than just a wildcat QB in the red zone this past season but that's what he was limited to by our OC. He needs to be on the field a lot and in football people get hurt so you can't protect player from that.

He could be out there a lot more. What do you want to do waste a talent and lose a football game, just in case QB 1 goes down. That's what we been doing for the last 20 years. Get the best damn players on the field and play them and win. It seems moronic to save a guy just in case, while we continue to lose games.

He still may in reality be our #2 QB next year even if he's playing TE. Being able to play a couple of positions is a valuable tool for a player. Now if he could just long snap. Honestly, he needs to learn. It would be almost a sure path to the NFL if he could play TE and long snap at his size and speed.
