Foley is gone!!👈 Ekeler coming home?

He gave them ample opportunity to succeed. I do question his ability to identify coaching talent. Top to bottom, his first staff here is a C-. Not many bright spots.
Yes, in the meantime Matt Rhule allowed us to endure Foley’s lack of competence for 2 entire seasons. I get the celebration now but we still have the guy who hired him to begin with, right? Not saying Rhule should bat a thousand with his staff, but this one was a real head scratcher. Maybe his replacements will get it done, we’ll see. GBR

Foley was brought in by Rhule as during his stints at Temple and Baylor, Foley's STs were Top 25 and at Carolina 2020 STs finished 15th, 28th in 2021 and 4th in 2022. That's why he brought him here. With Foley's record of coaching STs in his career show's the problem here was more than the coaching as over half the problem were the players.

Was confident Rhule would make a move. For those who wanted a public flogging days before his contract expired I’m sure there will continue to be a “Rhule is soft”.

We have a coach with high integrity, treats others with respect and holds people accountable and makes tough decisions to win and better our program.

We have now clearly upgraded our WR Coach, our OC and our ST’s cannot get worse, so assuming we will be stronger. DC will remain to be seen but I’m optimistic there will not be a let off.

In addition the staff is aggressively attacking the portal to fill gaps.

All that to say … I like our coach and I’m fired up for 2025.

Excited Oh Yeah GIF

Yeah, I’ve seen all the stats, but when you get the same results in execution over and over and over again, I can’t put the blame all on the players….there is a reason Foley is gone.

I thought Rhule wouldn't make changes involving his buddies? RollingLaugh
He took entirely too long for this. There was no reason to not do it during one of the bye weeks or even the offseason. Some people knew immediately this was a bad hire, why did it take so long for Rhule to figure it out?

How was Foley during other stints with Ruhle? It's obvious he stunk up the place here but he couldn't have been as bad everywhere else as he was here right??

If so lord hammercy wtf was he doing in Lincoln to begin with?

How are ST ratings figured? It seems like this could be really subjective.

There is net punting, return yards, return yards allowed, field goals, etc. Do allowing block kicks count against you more than a missed FG? What exactly does it mean to say special teams finished 4th?
