Army All American Game Announcements... My thoughts/opinions

Jamire Calvin - Nebraska
Darnay Holmes - Nebraska - To many signs pointing to us after today
Foster Sarell - Nebraska
Chuck Filiaga - Michigan

Remaining targets that I think we get, based on need/want (This is based purely on opinion)

Greg Johnson
Joseph Lewis
Nick Robinson
Jaylin Bradley
Deommodor Lenoir
Damien Daniels or Tyler Shelvin(We get one the other goes elsewhere)

I know you may be thinking what about DE's. I think we would take 9 if we can get Robert Beal, but if we strike out on him. I believe we will move Deontre Thomas to DE. He was considered a DE from other recruiting sites.

OFFENSE - 13

QB - Tristan Gebbia
RB - Jaylin Bradley/(Maybe) Greg Johnson
FB - Ben Miles
WR - Keyshawn Johnson Jr., Jaevon McQuitty, Jamire Calvin, Joseph Lewis
TE - Austin Allen, Nick Robinson
OL - Foster Sarell, Matt Sichterman, Broc Bando, Brenden James

DEFENSE - 9

DE - Guy Thomas, Deontre Thomas
DT - Deiontae Watts, Damien Daniels/Tyler Shelvin (Which ever one we get to sign)
LB - Avery Roberts, Andrew Ward, Willie Hampton
DB - Greg Johnson, Deommodor Lenoir

I'd love to get Elijah Blades, Filiaga, Holmes, Beal and Shelvin, but we only have so many spots open.

Blades - Stays at Florida
Beal - Stays at Georgia
Shelvin - Stays at LSU

Regarding the January visitors, Dave Bartoo with CFB Matrix says that when a committed prospect visits another school, they flip 60% of the time. So hopefully we will land at least one of the 3 of Blades, Beal or Shelvin if they visit.

Good thread. I'd feel a lot better if this is indeed how it plays out for us. I guess that we'll find out soon enough here in a month or so...

If that's the class we land then we finished with a bang. I feel pretty good about landing Calvin. Outside of that, the remaining 4/5 stars I'm not feeling great about. I've heard Clouse believes we land Calvin and another on Saturday so that leaves me intrigued.

I would be shocked if he doesnt get an offer and he commits. We land Calvin, and 1 of these 3 of Holmes, Sarell, Fiago (sp? Sorry the other LT)

Dang thats unfortunate. He has no offers. Yeah he's a beast vs horrifying class A talent.

Dude, if we land anything like what you just predicted, I will freak the F out. I HOPE we are so lucky!

If we landed what was in the OP, we're talking damn near a top 10 class, aren't we? That would be 2 5 stars and a whole mess of 4 stars.

I said to watch for Rafdal when Letao (sp?) decommitted...CBs from Wiltfong and an Indiana writer today for the flip to NU

This would be outstanding! Who is rated higher? Not that stars matter, of course...

I personally think we have a better shot at flipping Blades than getting Lenoir but would take either/both.

Also, Rafdal instead of Robinson at TE

Would like to see Blaise Andries show up on the OV list for Jan as a nice option at OT

I sense you think Bradley doesn't deserve an offer. I can't claim HS football in NE is a gauntlet, but what does it say that a 17 year old RB makes other 17 year old kids look like they are playing Pop Warner? Focus on his skill not necessarily his opposition and the offer is pretty much a no-brainer.

This caught my interest though. I tried searching for the specifics but didn't find it. Wonderng if it gives a breakdown of flips up, down, and lateral moves.

I feel pretty good about our chances to add: Calvin, G. Holmes, Danniels, Bradley, Rafdal

I think we are about 50/50 on: Lewis, Johnson, Bowden and Lenoir

Less than 50/50: Robinson, Blades, Beal, Felix, Verdell

Not much of a chance: Holmes, Sarrell, Filiga, Shelvin.

Of course we will have new guys pop up too (hopefully not too many).

It could be Rafdal too. I know that we need to take another TE in this class. I predict Robinson if he visits

I just have stronger belief in the California recruits than others it seems, but I just know that the Keyshawn Johnson Jr. connection has yet to play out. That leads me to my opinions

That connection along with Donte Williams coming on board makes me believe a little more in our chances in landing Joseph Lewis, Jamire Calvin, Greg Johnson, Deommodor Lenoir, Darnay Holmes and Elijah Blades. It's harder for me to believe in not landing any of them, then landing a few of them

Reason's for my other predictions

Tyler Shelvin - Our lack of Scholarship DT's on our roster and immediate playing time. Damien Daniels may go elsewhere, because I don't believe Chevin Calloway is coming here

Foster Sarell - He has been coached by Cav since he was in Junior High. Coach Cav has a very close relationship with his parents, and so does Riley.

Damien Daniels - He rated his visit to Nebraska an 11. He loved it here. I think if we only take one more DT it will be Shelvin's to lose though

Nick Robison - See Shelvin... we could offer him early PT

Darnay Holmes - I know he is on the list of the KJJ connection, but I just want to ellaborate. We may not land him, but he has 3 teammates on our roster Gebbia, KJJ and Dismuke. I would not completely count us out, but daddy likes UCLA the most

Jaylin Bradley - He is qualified now. IMO he is a no brainer. Best running back out of Nebraska in at least 10 years. We have to get the best of the state and he is one of them!

Nate Clouse on 1620 last night said Bradley is academically eligible, so hopefully a Husker offer is coming soon!

Lewis i believe is N. In fact i believe he has told other recruits and coaches he N.

I think this is pretty accurate. I think our coaches have done a lot to set up the pieces, now it's up to the decisionmaking processes of 18 year old dudes. Wah waaahhhhhh...

Fantastic if true. How do you know this about him telling other recruits and our coaches?

In an unrelated but interesting topic...

Lewis did an interview with Carr, Johnson, Darnay, and Lenoir on the AA Bus the other day on the Periscope app (basically through his phone), and said something to the effect of "Calibraska, we should all go there and turn it up" or something like that.

Geez. If that were to happen the excitement might cause me to lose control of my bladder.

I think it'll be interesting to see the reaction of Verdell and Robinson now that Bradley and Radfal to NU seem to be a "thing".

The staff would certainly take all four, (Robinson could be a big WR as well especially if we are looking for bodies if Lewis goes to USC) and I think Verdell and Bradley are different enough players to warrant both in the O (They would have to sell Verdell on this though).

@big red22
Yes and No. I feel pretty good about that group because they seem to be leaning our way. I wouldn't say the "the competition is less" for Calvin, G. Holmes and Danniels, but is definitely is for Rafdal and Bradley.

I don't know who we'll get.

I heard him talking about it on the radio a few weeks ago. So I am not sure about the specifics.

His skill level is what you would expect from a NE state RB. Slows down on cuts. Average lateral movement, OK speed, but not a blazer. If we don't land a better RB than him, we will have failed at RB recruiting this year.

Who do folks think our silent commit is that KJJr mentioned a few weeks back? Seems like it would need to be someone within that CA contingent. Calvin?
