Mo Berry stood out to me during #Huskers scrimmage today. Seems to always be around the ball. Good young player.

Brian Christopherson ‏@HuskerExtraBC Riley named Lamar Jackson, Tony Butler & JoJo Domann as true frosh he thinks will be all over special teams. All LBs will probably redshirt.

Boe Wilson playing-right-away situation is real. Working with the 1s at LG. Also, Barnett sprained an ankle. Not serious, but a brief scare.

Luke Gifford is having a good camp. Stacked position, but Bray said he's seen some reps with the 1s. Just wants a little more consistency.

Nebraska's D is ahead of where it was last season. Yes, even with the young DL. It's ahead. Perhaps well ahead at LBs and DBs.

Mick StoletnBerg is going to be tough for anyone to block. he handles guys easily with leverage and he has quickness and he's really strong

Some other guys who had nice days Wilbon, The top 2 RB's were limited. But he ran well. Newby makes so many violent tackles. Mo Berry too.

If looking for optimism on D-line: Stoltenberg has looked good next to Maurice. Felt Natter & Alex Davis made some things happen as backups.

Can you make some comments on TA? I saw a blurb elsewhere; he quickly threw two interceptions. Puke, ugh; very hard to see POB redshirting; if Fyfe isn't up to a very high level.

I'm glad we're hearing the defense is making plays.....Cause last year, we heard how sharp Tommy was, and look how that turned out on both sides of the ball.

And our WRS have a tendency to pop balls in the air.

We are real close to saying DPE is "back". Best we have seen him look all fall. #Huskers

Logan Rath waited til this morning to tell his parents he was a scholarship Husker. He wanted to tell them in person http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/three-in-state-huskers-realize-scholarship-goal/article_372af34a-80cd-5a8a-8426-2f6bba323fe9.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=user-share …

Tyler Moore (2011) is the only Husker true frosh OL to start an opener. We'll see what happens with Boe Wilson. But it's unusual territory.

He has to be mean as sh!t to be in that position. And that is great news to me.

I sure hope what we are hearing is not all hat no cattle. This staff knows how to present things I just hope it translates to wins
I agree, but the news today isn't so much from the coaches as it is the media, correct? The media are telling us some pretty good things (mostly), not the coaches sugar coating anything.

I just hope it continues to be good news that translates on the field, like you said.

True I just fight the urge to buy all the hype as we have heard it so many times before. If we get through Oregon undefeated I will officially get excited at that point

People look at the names Nebraska lost on DL and, I get it. But look. Different coach. Fully motivated guys. Fewer personal agendas.

Lots of great info today. DPE looking good is very encouraging! Also pretty cool that the true freshmen are showing so well. Heck, it even sounds like the DL is making some strides.

Nick Gregath @NickESPN1480

Tommy bounced back from the turnovers to throw a TD on a hell of a catch from DPE over Kalu. DPE made a big play for his QB.#Huskers

didnt Will Shields start as a frosh?

IF DPE returns to form, that is a big thing for our offense. The kid has intangibles that are beyond coaching. Big time playmaker.

didnt Will Shields start as a frosh?
Not aware if he did. OPENER is the operative word here.
Also I know Fonoti started as a true frosh. Just not opener I guess. And he was a BEAST. Ate himself out of the league I think, but a giant man beast.

Remember one thing: Wilson is starting out of necessity. Both Shields and Fonoti earned their eventual starting spots by beating out older guys. Not saying Wilson isn't good, because he is. But it isn't good either that we are that thin on the line.
