Ethan Nation is N!

Wow!! Hard to imagine Rhule getting off to a better start than this. Very impressive....and all the haters of this hire (if there are any left) can suck it.
I didn't hate his hire, I really liked it. His first PC made me like him even more and I think the recruiting/portal acquisitions were amazing given the short time his staff had. If you asked me last Friday I'd give his hire a 10. However, now that I put things in perspective of his last two coach hires, my rating fell to 7-8. I'm concerned his staff doesn't have enough experience. Doesn't make me a hater.

Just looked at his offer list. Holy shit. If those were legit this is an unbelievable get.
Sad thing is…you used to be able to maybe judge that a kid is better than his rating based on his offers, but now kids will actually make up offers to either gain stupid Twitter cred or to maybe sneak another offer that they wouldn’t have otherwise received. The thing is, the schools can’t confirm or deny.

It’s a sh!tshow.

There’s seriously a dude from Omaha North that is like 5’5 and claims an offer to play QB for Lane Kiffin.

True.. but I assume the official visits were legit so I imagine he has a pretty good offer list .

Edit- nm. None of his visits were official.. very strange.

Get over it. Those kind of hires were very successful at Baylor. We’re over thinking a position coach’s job. I would rather have a very bright inexperienced position coach like we hired than a dunce like Joe Dailey.

Watch his senior highlights. He's a player. Not super big. But great change of direction, good instincts and very good hands for a CB. Had a few toe dragging catches on offense.

Not sure on top end speed but looked fast enough.

IMO he's right on the edge of the upper echelon. Someone that the top schools would be happy to take if they missed on their top guys or even would be willing to take a flier on.

There are a ton of great defensive back prospects nowadays. We arent going to get very many of the 6 foot 2 210 pound 4.4 freak athlete corners but that's okay.

I'm all in to support the new staff and all, but official visits are the closest way for us to determine if a kid had commitable offers. The whole offer list thing is so misleading. But having said that, I'm hoping Rhule's contacts at various high schools will help him to get a good read on kids so that he can avoid the obvious blunders that Riley and Frost made-- bringing in guys with great offer lists who weren't being actually recruited by the big names on the list.

True but Matt Rhule said with his interview with Carriker that he goes youthful and energetic at the position coaches and experience on the OC and DC jobs. So this is to be expected based on the fact that he wants the experience to be coming from those areas.

Welcome to Nebraska Young man!

Another member of the 160lb club, save him a place and two plates at the training table.

As for the offers and official visit situation, I had a somewhat personal experience. My first year as the principal at a small school, the coaches son, a qb, was allegedly being pursued by KU (this was when they were good). All I heard was KU wants him, KU offered him, and on and on. He was a good athlete but not great, but what did I know. At the end of all the hoopla from dad the coach he ends up at a NAIA school as a WR and played one year. He never had an offer from KU, just a form letter lots of kids receive and maybe a phone call or two. Things have changed but thr one that has not is the kids can say whatever they want, no one is going to correct them.

Offer lists have become very suspect.
The subject for instance. Claiming all these big school offers fills me with doubt. Alabama may have contacted him but you're telling me he has the option to go there?
Bama's class at this point has 7 five stars, the rest is 4 stars with a kicker exception. There are no 3 star scrimmage players. Bama offer? Come on.

Competitive but undersized, struggles with larger recievers per scouting report.Listed as the 68th highest rated player.....in Georgia. The world's lousy with 3 star kids who have something but lack something.
