Georgia State game, there's a targeting call and it's super obvious who it's on. The game is in the 2nd half. It takes the announcers a couple replays to figure out which player was called for it as both guys kept on blabbering and didn't hear the call from the official.

Anyways, the one announcer just said, "so I take it he's out till the 4th quarter of the next game". Seriously man, do you not know what the rule is? It's brutal listening to awful announcing, game after game.

Is this a low paying job or something? Curious what the pay scale is for games like this. Surely there are more qualified people, no?

You are surprised why? It isn't back in the day when there were like four games on Saturday and the networks had their top guys on them. Now with virtually every game televised, it seems they pull people off the sidewalk to announce them.

Not only that, but it seems like people have been bailing on ESPN like its the titanic going down.

They're are the king of college football, that's why I'm surprised. Their broadcasts have been on a decline the last few years because of this very reason. I know people get after the female that covered the 11am Big Ten slot but at least she knew what was going on. I'd lunch rather listen to someone like her, who happens to not just know the personnel but the rules as well, instead of the yahoo's tonight.

It's not like they have hundreds of games each Saturday. Maybe it's a much tougher job than I'm giving it credit for. Or, the pay is so bad it impacts the talent availability.
