Someone posted this on OSU board. Notice how this correlates with CFP champions. Although GA has under performed. And our one 5 star was actually a 3 star in transfer portal.

You would also see a similar distribution if you looked at top 50, top 100, top 200, etc.. For example Bama and OSU dominant top 100 for 2021. OSU has 14 of top 100, and Bama something similar.

this is why what happens in the big 12 is interesting.
if they disband
or stay together but are not considered p-5
or if the big 12 without texas and 0u, starts building successful teams to replace them
(especially 0u as far as winning on a national level) (houston maybe a sleeping giant and if they get added)

and how them 3 scenarios could affect Nebraska's recruiting in the south
also how texas and 0u do in the sec

if the big 12 turns into a complete dumpster fire, if them southern recruits don't head east...there not much in the way of them heading north.

a real long shot is if 0u and texas are bluffing to see if the politicians in their state don't step in, then switch and decide to join the big 10 with kansas. they haven't signed anything yet...considering they been planning on leaving the big 12 for a year...I wouldn't put it past them, especially texas when they come to understand the sec won't be their cheerleaders like the lil 8 did

I don't think any of those scenarios affects Nebraska recruiting in the south. Nebraska doesn't go into the south and pull out 5 stars now. They won't do that consistently in the future either. Where Nebraska needs to make hay on the recruiting front is getting 4 star players from anywhere in the country.

There are about 25-35 five star players per class. So that sample size doesn't mean much for a team like Nebraska. Typically there are about 200 or so 4 star players. The difference between player ranked 36 and 250 is there, but it is also not as great as you would expect. The point being that Nebraska should be able to pull in multiple 4 star players each year. If/ when they start winning 8-10 games per year, the ability to get those players should increase further.

I’d like to see the number of 4-5 players per team .

Would also be interesting to see how that correlates to wins/loss and draft picks

if we could take 1 good texas player from each of the remaining lil 8, I think it could make and impact..

sure winning would help alot more...no question..I'm 100% behind that action...

this paying players deal will be interesting also...like if wall street decides they want to go to rutgers games on saturday.

There is probably an article somewhere that identifies the number of teams that have 50% of their roster as 4 and 5 stars. Those are the teams that have a shot at the national title. The guys name escapes me, Elliot maybe??? It is called the Blue Chip ratio.

Which comes first, the winning or the elite recruiting?

One of the only ways to fix this disparity is to limit the amount of 4 and 5 stars one team can have. This would allow more schools to be able to actually compete for a national championship.
It would get more fans excited for the season and it would create a far more enjoyable product to watch nationally.

Get out of here with that BS.

I think they should just make all prospects 5 stars like what our schools do with test scores/suspensions/etc

Problem solved!

Ah ha, the socialistic approach to college football.

I question the ability of "more schools" being able to compete. I don't think many would argue the our recruiting is better now than under the last coach but results have not matched. Oh sure, I know, we are still young.

They already tried to create parity in college football by limiting the amount of scholarships, which has had the opposite effect in regards to the upper echelon teams. It's just another way to try and create parity.
The recruiting analysts and would have to get better... Though they usually are pretty spot on when it comes to upper 4 and 5 star talent.

It is too subjective

Oh...what could have been had NU put proper succession planning in place in Osborne's final years coaching.

Taking that transition too lightly was the single, largest FUBAR leading to our current circumstances.
