Eichosrt letter

HI ass is tied to the MR hiring, so yes, he is going to say something like this. I am sure he likes his job and wants to keep it, but he is sweating it out like the rest of us. For the record, and for the low information posters out there (ruff-ruff) I am not advocating a change in anything.

Now remember your heart felt testimonial.

You may as well be typing in Hebrew ruff-ruff, because once again, I have no idea what you mean with that. It would be nice if you just admit you had me confused with somebody else and you said a bunch of crap that isn't anywhere near accurate about me, and move on. It happens, people get posters mixed up all the time, what most of them don't do is keep going with it once they realize their mistake.

Just say it was a nice gesture and a measured statement and leave it at that.

I'll say this... As a leader you have to be the firm structure. You must never show visible palpable panic. People feed off of it. He is a leader. I'm not saying he's perfect. I don't know if I support Riley or not yet but he did the right thing and showed stability aND was the voice of reason among uncertainty

Just curious.....what would a leader do differently?

I think a leader wouldn't hide behind emails and press releases. A leader would face his tough decisions in public. He would sit down with the players that were in town when he fired Bo and face the tough part of his decision. He would show the players that he would lead the way for a better program and future. It would of been tough but would of went a long way. Instead Bo had all the say and influence on their minds.

What good do you think the letter did? Honestly pissed me off more than anything.... and I'm in the crowd who is willing to give more time to MR. I would be fine if he stuck to his own policy of not commenting but if he's got something to say then face the tough situation in person and show us all that he will lead us out of this. He probably didn't even write the letter.

I think MR did a nice job in in PC in a tough situation.

The spin has started. MR did the same thing at the pressed today. Looks like the fan base is turning up the heat.

Eichorst is a putz. This statement reads like, "we are seconds away from being 9-0...please don't fire me".

He might be feeling some heat but I doubt he's overly worried at the moment. Tim Clare Pelini backer is the only Regent so far to be "possibly considering" other names.

Be interesting to see how it unfolds

The big problem with the letter is he talks so much about what is going on behind the scenes, well guess what AD? People don't care what is going on behind the scenes. Just Win. That is all the mob really care about. It's been that way since the beginning of mankind. People want to feel good about themselves, and live vicariously through the success of the team. They don't care how you get it done, only that you get it done. People don't fill the stands and buy tickets to cheer how much we suck. No one gives a flying tennis shoe about what is going on behind the scenes or your energy bus propaganda.

I am not a Pelini supporter in any way, but I feel a little bit like the players must have felt when they got an email from SE saying Bo was gone. This generic statement makes me sick at my stomach. Like every letter written by a lawyer makes you feel - full of "fluff" and very little truth. When several players transfer out, and we continue to be like a team on sanctions, what makes anyone think that we've turned the corner on this trainwreck.

It remains to be seen where any corner is turned for this coach or the next. However a good first step no matter who is coach is removing the cancer.

My first thought was: "Somebody in the athletic department needs to figure out how to use commas properly."

My second thought was: "This is like Tariq Aziz reassuring citizens of Iraq that everything was okay."

My third thought was: "This is devoid of any heart or emotion."

Seeing a lot of cancer metaphors lately. How about instead of "removing" or "killing" coaches focused on healing? That's what great coaches have always done: won over doubting players.

Yeah, Bo was a potty-mouth sailor and intimidated Shawn, but in NO way would I ever trade a Bo 9-4 for a MR 4-8!!! Shawn did his own 2 day search and came up with a name he had 10 years ago. He did ZERO interviews with anyone else. He had no friends on the team, and didn't prepare for the locker room disaster when he fired Bo through an email. Now, Husker Nation has sunk to a 50 year low, just because this Managementless Attorney Loser, posing as our AD, thinks he alone can go out and make huge changes in our program!!! This email sucks. Shawn sucks. STOP HIRING Attorneys!!!!!!!

It is worse than that...I believe he knew he was going to get rid of Bo no matter what, so really he had an entire year to find a head coach...and he hired Riley.

What do you make of sharps revelation that SE interviewed whittingham and someone from the university quashed it from a money angle.

Completely made up? SE back stabbed by Perlman or a regent?

Be kind of funny if some months from now SE looks more positive to the fan base and Perlman flies solo for Fan hate

I can't be certain, but my opinion is that it is not accurate. Whittingham is kind of a state of Utah guy. Went to college at BYU etc. He has had his chances to leave Utah for a long time, but never was interested. I think he loves being at Utah and it would be hard to get him to leave.

I feel like that PR just made things worse. It made me feel worse. He filled it out like my daughter fills out MADLIBS.

Do you think Trev Alberts would ever send out a P****A** letter like that.
Has Dr Tom weighed in? Or is he done with this nonsense?

A post that I can get behind. Remove the cancer...whether it be players, coaches, AD or chancellor.

Isn't Whittingham well-known to be one of the lowest paid P5 coaches, at least among the "name" guys? Didn't he lose both coordinators after last season because they got more money to go someplace else (the DC ended up at Oregon St, ironically enough)?

I think it was pretty well documented that he was on the verge of walking away from Utah due to the nickel and diming attitude of their administration. Surely he would have jumped at an NU offer similar to whatever package Riley signed up for.

Fire assistants and replace w potential head coach candidates and hire a recruiting genius to deal w Nebrakas problems
you think the AD should fire asst coaches and hire replacements? If a boss ever has to force someone to fire someone below them they are firing the wrong person.

According to Tim it's a moot point
