DPE probable, Knevel questionable

Or Conrad might slide back out to tackle and Decker start at center....

Word from same article said Farniok is a go if Knevel if a no-go.

Good grief, 1 game and Knevel is already hobbling around again. I wondered how long he'd stay healthy. Some things never change!

So DPE was injured yet again... :( I think I knew this but forgot.

Curious what others think about his NFL future. I have thought since his freshman year that he would be drafted, but with all of the injuries, I wonder if he is more likely to get signed as a free agent instead of drafted due to his recent history of injuries (not due to lack of skills).

Maybe that is dumb and doesn't affect the draft, I don't know much about that.

Rats. sorry to hear both are having some trouble again. Hope for the best.

I wonder when he injured his shoulder. I was a little annoyed on his 70 yard run that was called back. He was running clear and started trotting the last twenty yards instead of just running it out. He got tackled from behind at the goal line and looked to come down pretty hard. It wouldn't have really taken much more effort to just run it out instead of celebrating way too soon. Spielman did the same thing but didn't get run down on his kickoff return. I wish they wouldn't do that stuff.

This would not surprise me one bit... if it was against Northern Illinois, Rutgers, or Illinois.

Since the game is against Oregon, on the road, and in a loud environment (according to a recent article), I wonder if it would make more sense to leave Conrad at center solely for those reasons... instead of giving Decker his first start against a team that I assume Riley reeeeeaaaaally wants to beat.

TLee has probably practiced the most with Conrad and I would think the QB-Center exchange would be a good reason to play Farniok at RT instead of Conrad.

If Decker has been getting a lot of practice with TLee and the coaches feel he would be fine in that environment, then that's not a bad decision. I would just hate to see there be some issues that cost us the game. Everything I have heard about Decker is that he is good, so who knows what the coaches will decide to do.

I just hope they don't force Knevel out there at less than 90% and have it hurt our team's chances to win. Also I am somewhat excited to see some of the younger guys in action.

AMEN!

That would suck if that's the play that injured him. I would bet that would really make him think twice about not playing 100% at all times until the play is over and should be a huge lesson to his teammates if so.

I assumed he pulled up because he knew he stepped out and anticipated a whistle. When it didn't come, he kicked it up again.

You forgot though...DPE is far too cool for school to not slow down.

Not dumb at all. Right now, he's a free agent prospect even if healthy. There are a lot of medium sized, quick and athletic kids the NFL is looking at. Most have accomplished far more than DPE at WR. Throw injury concerns in the mix and it will have most NFL teams looking the other way. Right now, he would be signed as a returner who would get a look at WR. If he can stay healthy and show that he's got pro potential at receiver, maybe he gets healed up & tests well, then who knows?

I agree. Time to take the training wheels off.

I agree as well. We've seen what some of those starters play like when they are not close to 100% and it ain't pretty. On the other hand, we've got a couple young kids who may show that when game day rolls around, they are going to flat out be better players.
