Done with this season

Wow have we as a fan base went through this much of emotion in one season. I know in my 30+ years I can't remember it. I think we all want the same for the program and the player, to return to success. Like Riley, hate Riley it is what it is at this point.

So after cooling down a bit after yet the 4th heartbreaking, insane loss, I have decided to just be done with this season. Now I don't mean I am not going to support the coaches and players, or that I am not going to still watch every game. What I mean is I am done worrying about what the outcome is this year. If we win out great if we lose out great. Odds are MR is probably here at least 1 more year no matter what this season brings, so being so upset about this year really doesn't matter, there is nothing we can do about what happens the rest of this year.

I have come to terms with MR as of now. I will give him a pass on this year. I will let him get another year of recruits, another year of players getting use to the system, most importantly one more year of Bo and his players behind us. If next year continues on the same path as this year, then I think we all need to seriously rethink what it going on with this program, until then lets all chill out. (<---yes, I know it won't happen)lol

I get it. I'm definitely not as up tight now that I know the West is probably out of our grasp. I watching for player development now, and I'd like to see us get to a bowl. And you bet I'll be rooting for us to win out.

Ya, I can see this happening with a lot of fans. After the Illinois game, I decided to leave emotion out of the picture for the remainder of the season. I'm not done with the season, just done getting upset about it.

Personally I would like for us to bench Armstrong and go with a better passer. I know we have bigger issues than Armstrong but we might as well move on to someone who fits Riley's scheme better. Tommy won't be the answer next year either. Very frustrating that we have gone now 8 years without having a legit passing qb. The last one that I can think of is Ganz.

Ummm we don't have a better passer than TA on the roster. People got way too enamored with his passing against some weaker defenses but he's better than anybody else on the roster. That will change when POB gets here. Not saying POB would beat him out, but he would give him a run for his money. TA does bring things to the table with his feet and leadership that you have to like. I love the kid.

we are 2-4 off to the worst start in over half a century. This season i pretty well toast. Hope for a win out but don't be shocked with a lose out either. Next year the ball better get rolling quickly is all I can say

Not being the starting Qb would help. The kid has great athletic abilities and amazing heart, he just isn't a natural qb. In this type of system he has to be. Move him to a wr, maybe TE, use him for trick plays ect.

Thank you! Exactly! Let's do the same thing with the defensive ends, linebackers and secondary! Why are we playing all of our walk-ons? We should be playing all of our 3 and 4 star talent from all of Pelini's top 40 classes from the last 5 years! These new coaches are IDIOTS!

With all the injuries that Nebraska has had to deal with on the defensive side and some of the offense (DPE and Gates), it's hard to expect these players to be able to compete at the high level expected with no depth and all the injuries. I don't think that Armstrong is the ultimate answer either for the offense that Langsdorf is trying to run but I think that his passing will be better hopefully with better pass protection going forward.

It would be nice to see some consistency with how they utilize the running backs. Not playing OZ at all (3 carries) is kind of baffling (unless there was some kind of injury that wasn't reported.). Playing Cross at RB after he supposedly moved to LB and using him in the last drive that could have sealed the win with a 1st down was also very puzzling. Was DPE in the last series? If not, he would have at least provided a decoy as to what Nebraska was actually trying to do with the ball. When is he going to start receiving punts again? That was a big part of Nebraska's success last year in terms of field position.

Bray has done a great job with the LB's. Hopefully the CB's and safeties will get better as the rest of the year plays out.

Who are we going to bring in? Fyfe???? We are better suited mirroring what our 2 touchdown drives right before half looked like. Tommy on the ground with passes sprinkled in when they are off balance. Mix in the run to all of that and we looked pretty damn good.

Thanks for still supporting and following the team, OP. Not being too worried about Year 1 outcomes is how a lot of us were from beginning. We know it's Year 1. We know what Riley walked into, too.

Why? You have no control over what happens. I'm not happy with the current results, but it won't keep me from watching the Huskers! Many of us don't agree on how the program is being run and probably will never agree. I still love the Huskers!!!!!!!! Don't stop.
