that Frost won’t be the one calling plays and/or having final say on all things pertaining to the offense? I didn’t believe it before and I certainly don’t believe it now after hearing the defensiveness and defiance in his voice when asked about his “new role” this year.

Honestly, I’m neither surprised nor do I blame him if he can’t cede control. His value as a coach hinges entirely upon the perception of him as a great offensive mind and his ego will not allow that to completely erode unless it’s 100% his own undoing. It’s how he’s wired and we knew this when he was retained for another year.

I think Scott would rather risk going boom or bust one more time doing things his way than risk having the offense be better under someone else’s control (it couldn’t be much worse). I don’t think this is a malicious or even conscious decision on his part - it’s just who he is. Whether resurrection or apocalypse, the result must be born from him.

JMO. Let’s hope his gamble pays off for once if my gut is right.
