If your 6' 4" 275 the game experience isn't going to be pleasant unless you are in a box or have sideline passes.

My brother is 6' 8"....he doesn't even bother going anymore.

It will provide a better experience plus if we keep doing this (which it appears likely since this is the second reduction in the last couple years) it may help us keep the streak alive when bad times come. As an article from Land of 10 said,

The sellout record has to be the single most overblown and over talked about streak of all time. I hope it ends so we can stop hearing about it.

Live games do not have the same luster they once had. Going to a game is a good time, but I would just as soon watch it at my house. Fighting traffic, parking, getting home. I can get a beer, watch the game, grill food, sit in my recliner, watch other games during commercials.

I think you are wrong on the streak. It is something in which to take great pride...there really isn't anything quite like it. The streak makes it abundantly clear that Nebraska football is not just about players, or just about coaches, or just about administrators, or even just about a university. It is all of those things including the fans and the people of a state.

It will be good to hear at the first game, "Welcome to the 355th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium."

Yeah it's a hassle going to the games but it's fun too. It's fun going out to eat before or after the game, meeting family, and often running in to people you haven't seen in 30 years. Wish I could make it to more. Often give our tickets to friends.

If it were real! Every game compnies buy up tickets. UNL screwed the pooch on this. Too much expansion and requiring stupid donations for season tickets plus prices and you add in what tuco said above and UNL is in quite a dilemma for the future imo.
What they are doing is a good thing and they need to do this everywhere. Im not big, 5'10 170 and i was absolutely miserable at miami game a few years ago and never am i comfortable at any game, even standing. Unless im up in the empty seats in south stadium....

Who cares? Those tickets are bought and still get used by someone. We are a long way away from companies not being able to give purchased tickets away for the game.

Now go to a game at the University of Tulsa and you will see a half-empty stadium where companies buy tickets that go unused.

Didn't they actually make the seats narrower when they replaced the old wood ones a couple of decades ago. It seems to me that they added a couple of seats per row to boost how many people they could shoehorn in to the stadium.

They are in a pickle for sure. As evidenced by the responses here, it matters to some a lot and none to others.

My dilemma is paying 3-4K for 2 decent seats (due to donation) and knowing that over 1/3 of the stadium doesn't pay ANY donation...it needs to be one way or the other and my suggestion would be to do away with the donation and dramatically hike the ticket prices (while also starting different pricing tiers based on where the seats are actually located).

If the university was smart they would start working their way around the stadium by upgrading the seating like they are in North stadium and shrinking the overall capacity. The fan experience has declined so people are just watching from home or the bar. If you want to catch a game then just buy a scalped ticket for that specific and save on seat donation.

Im amazed at how cheap i can scalp tickets. Havent purchased a ticket for full price in years, and ive seen real games.

They should make the wider seats up higher in the stadium and skinnier seat lower down. Let people know this and maybe the people who need the wider seats will get a little more excercise.

Row 16 or so West stadium with the rented stadium seats 20+ years. The seats keep the fatties at bay. Uncomfortable at times? Yes. Enjoyable still? As long as we win baby.
