What do you think will happen?

As much as I want to see Alcaraz ascend as the next great Djoker just seems unbeatable

Think Alcaraz is ready to take the mantle. He’s the real deal. Spanish Rodger Federer. Djokovic has gotten a pretty raw deal from the Vaccinists, but he talks too much. He’s no Federer.

I’m highly anticipating this match… I think we are on a new wave of greatness, with many new stars… including some Americans?

Not sure about you but I think my favorite tennis time was the...

Becker
Change
Agassi
Courier
Edberg
Lendl
Sampras

Sort of that 1988-2000(ish) time period.

I LOVED Boris Becker, LOVED him.

He was my guy too. Did you see his apple TV doc

It certainly seemed pretty honest. It's wild the Steffi and Boris grew up so close to each other around the same time.
Off topic a bit...but Lars Ulrich, the drummer from Metallica, grew up in Denmark (I think), his dad played tennis and so did Lars...

In an interview years later, he was asked "So you played a lot of tennis growing up, why did you stop?"
And Lars goes

"Yeah, growing up in Denmark I played tennis all the time and I was even ranked in the top 10 in the country as a kid...then I moved to California and I wasn't even ranked in the top 10 on my block".

If I was to write something on my love of tennis through the years, there would be some wonderful memories but going to the US Open the last 14 years( except COVID) would be tops

23 slams… perhaps 24 tomorrow. Not sure how anyone can argue Djokovic isn’t thee GOAT
I am with you on this...BUT I think the reason is that Wimbledon, US and French are sort of the "big 3" and The Aussie open is like the PGA championship.

You’re right he’s not Federer. He’s better.
Federer, at his best, beyond compare. In their prime, there’s no comparison. Anyone who’s watched them both in person, at their best, will tell you the same. Alcaraz has Federer-like talent. Novak does not. It’s a shame though how poorly he was treated by the US. Lost a lot of respect for USTA.

Always rooted against Federer when he was facing Roddick. The 09 final should have been Roddicks

Thought Fowler said during broadcast that some paid $15k for their seats
GA @ US Open and Wimbledon I think are less than $50. Or 40€, or whatever it is. It’s like being in the third level of a Husker BB game, but at least you can say you were there.

GA for ASHE has been 88 for about the past 7 years…the best deal is the grounds pass early in the tourney

I got in to Wimbledon using the queue process. Camped out and got Centre Court for like 80 bucks. Had to get there at 11am for the next day. The queues stop I think in the quarters and maybe they just become grounds passes. Not sure though
