Direct- no ABC ketv in Omaha...

My parents live in SW Nebraska and DirecTV has never allowed then to have local channels because "they should be able to get it with an antenna".

My aunt has DirecTV and gets the local channels and lives 1.5 miles from my parents.

Well Dish Network lets you have local channels, so DirecTV needs to stop being stupid and allow it.

(Sorry, probably nothing to do with your Omaha situation)

Stupid contract dispute! I'm part blaming Argyle media. What's everyone with dtv doing?

Not watching KETV? Purchasing a digital antenna? You realize these things happen all the time these days. If you'd have no contract disputes (like this) your cable/satellite bill would continue to rise at will. Not a fan of these until I look at my bill.

I believe the ABC games are also streamed on Watch ESPN, which you should have access to if you have DirecTV. Stream it there and use an HDMI cable to pipe it to your TV.

(Oh, sorry. Thought this was just about the bowl games...)

This really sucks for Iowa fans. Hearst Media is who to blame from what Ive been told. They own ABC in this area. This is just what I was told.

I heard that directv wont accept the price abc is using with all other services. Who knows. Its crap

I live in Corning(SWI)Woke up yesterday with no CBS on my DTV,I called and bitched because I had guys coming over for the KC game.Tried to get them to NFL ticket me for the day. They said it was blacked out on the ticket in my area.LOL

I am going to streaming my tv with either PlayStation vue by Sony or the ATT/Directv known as Direct Now. Both cheaper then directv satellite service. Will use a digital antenna to get locals

FYI, every network Playstation provides, at some point, will come up for contract negotiation. The only thing you can get for free and are not subject to a contract negotiation is over the air networks with an antenna. I know this is common sense, but just pointing out that every provider encounters these types of issues as some point.

Exactly. I'm on Vue on my 2nd month. Subscribers lost Viacom channels just before I subbed. I'm not mad at all. I can do without MTV, Comedy Central, CMT, BET, Spike, TV Land, and Nickelodeon. Now, if I had kids then Nick would be missed. The rest is a wasteland of crap programming. Any show that I want from Comedy Central I can torrent. But I'd prefer no Viacom vs higher rates. I'm just not willing to over pay for tv any longer. So, I cut cable tv and am now saving ~$50 a month. Every provider cable/satellite/IPTV will have to go through these negotiations. It's either that or higher bills and hidden fees. No thanks.
