Im just curious what others think about this. From what I heard the players love his energy and enthusiasm for the game. Seems like a high energy guy.... would it benefit the players to have him on the field so he could get in there face a little Good or bad..... ???

He prefers the booth. Says its easier to see things.
Maybe he should try the sideline.

I've said this a few times. I HATE that he is in the booth. If that energy is what everyone says it is, then it's infectious and translates not only to the D but the O as well. It can infect the entire team. Additionally, I think there is a disconnect from the booth to the sideline, especially defensively. On offense the QB has to recognize the defense then communicate. On defense, everyone needs to recognize the offense. So when a QB and OC communicate to breakdown defenses and adjust it's easier than a D.C. Trying to communicate with an entire defense. I personally think Diaco would be more effective on the sideline with a white board. He needs "eyes in the sky" but more to confirm what he thinks he's seeing, than tomactually direct the defense.

Was just thinking about this very thing. I have no doubt Diaco does best in the box but while this D transforms into a 3-4 I think they need his teaching on the side line. Two weeks in a row he's adjusted well in the 2nd half. (Black shirts really did do a better job against A-state)

So I think his talking to players face to face is working. Much harder to do on a headset. And yes, in a perfect world, he'd be better in the box but this team isn't there yet. Defense will be better by the end of the year. They were better at the end of the game. You can claim conservative play calling by Ducks but the D still shut them down in the 2nd.
