Depth Chart Released

82 career starts for the Huskers on Offense (not counting Tanner Lee at Tulane) and 137 on Defense.

Surprised to see:

Austin Rose over Miles (probably a good thing to redshirt Miles)
Stovall over Anderson (or is that because the two CB spots are different positions?)
Dismuke over Kieron Williams

Few things stand out IMO

1. Kieron Williams is #3 on the depth chart. Didn't he have 5 INT's last year for us?
2. Peyton Newell ahead of Daishon Neal
3. I see no Guy Thomas anywhere!

Some redshirt observations:

Looks like both Danniels and D. Thomas will play. Eventually, you have to think Thomas will move out to DE, so they can both play together.
Jamies listed at 3rd at OT makes me think they want him to RS.
Same with Gebbia at QB.
G. Thomas looks to be a RS, not on the depth chart.
Bradley listed as 4th RB. Possibly a RS, bit I think Ozigbo was listed as 4th as a Freshmen and he played.
Miles looks like he will RS, not listed on the depth chart.
Obviously, Roberts and Lindsey will play a big role.

Here's what stands out to me:

1. 2 senior kickers.
2. I hope Davis and King are ready at OLB.
3. Keyan Williams is not listed as injured but is 3rd string.

I was surprised by KW as well.

Riley said in press conf that Bradley will play. Looks like they'll use him on special teams.

Other observations and questions:

Lindsey and Spielman as top 2 on Kick Return. Does that mean they are both out there together? Are we done with one of the two being primarily a blocker?
No Mazur on Kick Return a surprise to me. It sounded like he was going to be the guy there before his injury.
Three #1 RB's is interesting. I wonder which one goes out for the first series?
Newby #1 at CAT. I expected to see -OR- with Newby and Gifford.
K. Williams passed up by Dismuke, now at #3 after starting most of last year. This is a good thing, IMO
Who the heck is Eli Sullivan?

What stands out to me is that we have 5 Sr. starters on offense and only 3 on defense. I like it, a youth movement.

5 int doesn't tell the whole story, turned into a liability by end of the season.

Daishon has injury issues that have REALLY set him back

Guy is targeted for a RS but could play if Davis/King can't get it done or are injured, they would like to save the year if they can.

I agree. Glad to see guys like Dismuke move up the depth chart.

KW is surprising but he will still probably play in some packages. Methinks he simply cant figure out all the coverages and sets yet.
Im surprised about Mazour and KR, but it tells you something about how those freshmen are looking in practice.
I thought rs for bradley. I was wrong.

Danniels not on that lit. It would be nice to be able to RS him, he is still only 17 years old.

Pretty sure his b-day is real soon. I doubt we have the depth to redshirt him. And my personal preference is that we play him. I suppose one of the Davis twins could always move over to NT even though it isn't listed that way on the depth chart. We'll see how it evolves as the year goes on. If Ark St. is a blowout, do you get as many guys as possible game experience?

I don't know why, but I forget about Dismuke a lot. I am glad to see he is making moves.
5.8 4* out of Calabasa. It does speak to the level of talent in the D backfield that we forget about a guy with that kind of recruiting pedigree (fourth best in his class).
The 2016 class is already beginning to fill out the depth chart.

Khalil mention that at least he knows NT and DE.

When Riley fired Banker he made a comment that we were still seeing the same mistakes over and over. Believe that this may be this issue with Kieron Williams.

Good substance to this post. I can actually see where you are coming from.

Kieron Williams is in the Diaco Dog House. He allegedly lacks some self awareness and its halting his PT.
This is compounded by his skill set. In Diaco's scheme, the safeties have to be versatile. Kieron has really good ball skills and understands coverages well. he plays a "Centerfield" type Free Safety spot very well. This allowed him to track a lot of errant throws and help out on the back end. Unfortunately, he struggles in true man to man coverage. You can't really ask him to cover up a TE or in the Nickel. He will get exposed. And he is very marginal in pursuit while often shying away from the run.
I guess he really threw a fit when Domann passed him in the Spring, and I don't think Diaco is the kind of coach you want to throw a fit around.

Dismuke is extremely talented, and a lot more physical than Kieron Williams. They wanted to play Dismuke at Corner, but he was too physical and mugged receivers. He was like a PI waiting to happen on every throw. Its pretty obvious Diaco wants a guy who will lay the wood more than maybe someone who really only excels in a tip drill.

Just STFU. I couldn't give 2 sh!ts if you're able to follow along or not.
Sorry, didn't mean to offend you by giving kudos.

it wasn't my intention to get under your skin or rile you up... hope I don't take up too much of your time. If I bother you that much you can ignore me I guess... that would probably be easier than STFU...

You two are starting to be a lot like the May vs Mac fight. I will leave it to each of you to determine who is who.

Good to see no one has a guaranteed spot, as far as safety goes. Also must be some good competition in practice for spots.

Not everything is shown on the depth chart, kind of like that Farmer in the #2 LG if Foster goes down.
