Figured since we had the Republican one we should also give out the Dems for an alternative.

1. Rich people have more than you. We don't care why. We'll take more of that money, keep a slice for ourselves, then give it to anyone that doesn't want to work very much. Doesn't matter why you don't want to work. We don't care.
2. Don't worry rich people. The poors will give it back to you minus our cut. Don't tell them. They won't be able to figure it out until we'll after our term is up.
3. We can actually pay out more than what we take in. Inflation is years away so we don't have to worry about that until at least after this term is up. We'll figure out a way to spin it by then to blame the rich white people.
4. Whatever happens with the economy blame the rich people.
5. If you're a POC you don't have as much as the rich white people so clearly it's their fault. Ignore the fact that we're rich white people. Obviously we're not the same rich white people. We're not actually going to improve your lives in any way but we'll sure talk about how much we want to.
6. Medical costs a lot of money. That's why we want to take it over. Once we have universal Healthcare it will cost more but we'll take it out of your paycheck so it will seem like it costs less. You guys aren't very smart and we know that. We don't have that plan right now so we're going to put more money into the really bad setup we've got. The more of you that sign up for that setup the less of you we have to force into it later.
7. Since we know you guys don't like to work and work needs to be done. We're going to let anyone from Mexico come over the border. That way you guys can stay home.
8. Cost is never an issue. We make the money so we can just make more.
9. You poor people are terrible at raising your kids. You just make more poor people. Doesn't mean you have to get a job but we're going to build new "preschools". Taking 3-4 year olds now. If you stick with us we'll take them right from the hospital. You can nap all day and come get "your" kids at 5:00. Remember the more kids you have the more we'll pay you. It's a net negative to you but you won't realize it and we'll eventually have more voters.
10. Let us know what makes you unhappy so we can figure out a way to blame the rich white people. Again the other rich white people. Not us.

I forgot education.

11. You sucked at school for the first 18 years of your life so we're going to give you 2 more years to continue to suck. Won't need you in the workforce anyway and after those 2 years are up you can get the exact same job you would have got 2 years ago.

Do Republicans have a platform? Because last fall, their platform was, "Whatever the Great Orange One wants." They literally had no platform. Nothing. Not a thing.
Matt has the Republican platform in another thread.

Sounds like a ting of racism in that undertone there. What people are you referring to when you say "you people are lazy and don't want to work and just want to make kids?"

And if you sensed racism that was not intended. Honestly a bit strange that you did. There's plenty of white people that already do/will be happy to take advantage of not working and living off the govt. Some of them even identify as Republicans. Probably because they like guns.

Needless to say I would rather run on the platform of making the rich pay their fair share, improving peoples health, and prioritizing child care and education so people can get back to work, than the republican agenda.

Roughly half the country.
Give me a fvcking break. I don't know a single Democrat that actually wants to be taken care of by the government, and the people that do want to take advantage of the government are generally non-political and/or too overwhelmed with other shit to even bother voting.

You know what Democrats actually do believe? That it's a travesty that we have people that are homeless, hungry, and without health care. This country has much much much more than enough resources that no on, literally no one, should be homeless, hungry, and without health care. Hell, the top 10 richest people in the country probably have sufficient wealth to house, feed, and provide health care for every single person who needs these things. It's ridiculous, as much pride as we take in our country, to think that we cannot do these most basic of things.

I'm not talking a free ride for everyone, just those people that need assistance. It would give people that have had some bad luck a safety net to get back on their feet, and a lot of people will do just that. Some of course will try to abuse the system, but it's not going to be a large percentage. Certainly not "half the country". That's just idiotic and if you really believe that, you're a lost cause.

Look I get all that and I'm for a lot of those things (but I would argue Dems have no interest in solving some of those...or at least they've never even tried to offer solutions) But a couple things:

1) Your circle does not represent all Democrats. Just because you don't know any doesn't mean they don't exist. Both sides have huge swaths of uninformed voters that have absolutely no idea what the hell they're voting for.

2) You act like there aren't any programs ALREADY that address so many of those things. There are food programs, housing programs, ACA provides subsidies to make health insurance/care free for the lowest income people, etc. etc.

Democrats have a huge problem with their base (just as much as pubs do with Q) of people who are so freaking disillusioned about what taxing rich people could provide or even what the government is capable of providing.

They don't understand big numbers, so just like yourself they assume if we just tax the richest a bit more, everyone gets free stuff. It's frankly not true.

I'm even one for raising taxes on extremely wealthy people in a pretty significant way, but I also want the government to undergo massive cuts until it can stop adding to the debt (and even bring it down a little).

The whole, "My side just wants to fight for good while the other side wants evil" is just so damn tiresome and ignorant.

I just want to point out that there are plenty of people who don't consider themselves democrats who are also rally sick about the homeless, hungry, sick etc. Difference is (if you'd ever try to consider the other side in the best possible motivation (like you do your side), that many non-democrats don't think the government should create systems to protect them. Many think charity and community can address a lot of those that are downtrodden in a more effective and efficient manner. The concerns I can think of is the government inefficiency and bloat, potential reliance on handouts that don't actually help the person long term, corruption within the system, and even a tipping point on the "producers" of the country feeling taken advantage of, and saying, ok, **** off. Granted, some of your counterpoints to these concerns of theirs are also valid.

But i know plenty of conservatives, republicans, libertarians, etc. that really, truly care about those issues and do a lot to try to improve those issues in their actions.

No single party has a monopoly on good people or ideas, nor is any party free of bad poeple or ideas. I'm tired of that shit.

Stop creating some idealistic view of yourself and your "team", and *gasp* consider that another perspective may have a solution is better than your preferred approach. Leave room for yourself to be wrong. That faster people abandon building their identity and self worth on how they think they fit into a group the better we'll be. The party isn't always right. The party isn't all the same. The party can be wrong. It's okay for me not to agree with the party. If i am wrong, it doesn't mean i'm a bad person.

There is way too much complexity and way too much cost vs benefit in every solution to an issue that it's virtually impossible to be right all the time from any particular political angle. I don't identify with any political party (and honestly i have a hard time understanding how people do). At times i'm very liberal, others conservative, and even on particular issues like abortion, i'm left asking, well what are the details? For the most part i just want people to have the freedom to have a tremendous amount of mobility in their lives. But in order to have the freedom of radical success, we must tolerate to some degree people who fail. The tricky part is at what point to we cry foul, how do we limit grifters/cheaters, etc from poisoning the whole system. And at what point do we determine that the hierarchy has tilted towards tyranny too much and that too many good people have stacked up at the bottom. Then how do we fix it with a redistributive policy that is effective, efficient, and temporary. How do we not over correct? Our fear of sliding to rampant socialism shouldn't prevent us from correcting an issue of disparity, but we still should be afraid of it, because there is a slippery slope. And how do we allow a correction within a system that is effective and then not decide to take away the things that make it work, just so we don't have to fix it occasionally?

100% True. It just seems like both parties keep becoming more unlikable by the day.

And by design, both parties fill up with a bunch of idiots that can’t figure out the whole system is rigged to make them point the finger at eachother while both parties stuff their pockets.
